As Zuran saw Ren's eyes opening, he got excited. He sat up properly as he stared into his face. He had been sitting with him all day, watching over him to know when he'd wake up while using his heat to try saving him.
And it worked, so he was relieved.
"You're awake..." Zuran said as he ran his palm across his forehead. "How are you feeling...? Uncomfortable? Hot?"
Ren said nothing. He lay there staring at Zuran with thousands of thoughts running through his head.
The first thing he recalled was Zuran using his powers to seal him off into the flames that night. The memory of Zuran's heartless action was engraved in his mind. And the thought of it simply made him want to hate him—to snap at him and make him know how much he had suffered in there.
But then he recalled all Zuran had gone through at the hands of the Demon God. He recalled the hell he was put through and thought that maybe he really deserved that. He was the Demon God to some extent, after all.
