The twins are feeling their packs fracture through the bonds they have to the wolves who chose to follow them, and the specific quality of the fracturing is visible in both of them in different ways. Draco's version is the hot immediate kind — the specific distress of losing connection to something he's been responsible for, the Alpha instinct that runs toward gathering and holding and protecting its specific group finding that the group is no longer in a configuration that the gathering can address. Lucen's version is the colder analysis, the calculation of what the fracturing means structurally and what it produces downstream of the structure.
Both of them are carrying divided loyalties.
