POV: Aphrodite
Prophecy is clearer when blood is spilled.
The ancient texts arrive with the fleeing packs.
Not all of the packs moving through the territory in the war's chaos are running from the Moon-loyal forces toward the resistance's position — some of them are carrying things. The specific things that wolf communities have been maintaining since before the pack hierarchy existed, the pre-system archives that the communities closest to the Direwolf heritage kept as inherited obligation without necessarily understanding what they were keeping.
Ancient texts.
In the old script that I can read through the Direwolf blood the way I read other things through the blood — not through learning but through the inheritance, the ancient knowledge that runs in the lineage rather than in the individual.
The prophecy is no longer vague.
