Sofia gave him a slow, mysterious smile. Instead of moving into his arms, she leaned back and let the water carry her. With a sudden, graceful kick, she swam away toward the deeper end of the pool.
"You're an Alpha, Lucas," she called out over her shoulder, her voice light and teasing. "I thought you liked a challenge. Or are you still feeling the effects of that bullet?"
Lucas froze for a split second, stunned by her sudden boldness. Then, a low, predatory growl vibrated in his chest—a sound of pure delight.
She's playing with me, his thoughts roared, filled with a wild, infectious joy. God, I love this woman. She has no idea what she's doing to me.
