Adams walked steadily through the wide, long and elegant corridor of the hospital. As always, his face remained expressionless, though the faint curve at the corner of his lips betrayed a rare hint of satisfaction.
His shoulders carried a sense of relief, yet they remained rigid with anticipation. Every step he took was measured, while Joel followed closely behind him, his lips pressed into a thin line and his expression equally solemn.
Today was the day Sonia would finally be discharged from the hospital after enduring three months of unimaginable pain and relentless treatment.
Three months of repetitive treatment. Three months of tense expectations. Adams couldn't believe those days were finally coming to an end. At that moment, he couldn't wait to welcome his sister back.
