My eyes shut automatically as I took in a deep breath. I exhaled sharply as one by one, the sirens were turned off.
Better get this over with.
From the footsteps, I counted at least eight police officers. Two of them were already out of their cars, while the other six scurried out of theirs. Tsk! Always competent till there's actual danger.
Slowly, I turned my head to the side, giving them a glimpse of my face. I heard the unanimous gasp as they staggered backwards.
"He's a Z-Gen Alpha!"
"…calling for backup!"
I heard how quickly their heart rates escalated in that moment. My fight with Ruiqing from earlier had left a few marks, coupled with my aggressive driving. Tsk!
I rolled my eyes. "No need for all of that." I grumbled.
"Not all of them are bad, Lang. If you can't trust any officer at all, you can trust me." I shifted on my feet at the memory of Ruiqing's words.
