"ZOREN X research lab"
With only three stories, the research lab wasn't so huge, but it stared down at me, threatening to break me into shards. The large sign bared its teeth at me and I couldn't help but suck in a long shaky breath.
Around me, people in lab coats waltzed in and out of the building like there was nothing at stake.
And maybe there wasn't.
At least, not for them.
It wasn't too late. I could just turn around and put this all behind me.
"You know what? Fuck it." I mouthed to myself as with a nod, I turned around.
Before I took the next step, that was when I saw them.
The woman in gym clothes, who was sitting in front of the coffee shop, pretending to drink coffee; who conveniently stood up abruptly the moment I turned around,
The three high school students, who, now that I looked at them, seemed a bit too old to be in school uniform,
And what shocked me to the core. The police officer.
Oh, he really meant SURVEILLANCE.
