Chapter 202 - Chapter 203: List of Experts

"World's Greatest Ability User Tournament participant list."

Adam was browsing the news when an email suddenly popped up. It was Susan sending him all the information on the participants of this Ability User Tournament.

It was then that he remembered that today was the official deadline for participant registration.

"Tony Stark, he's participating after all."

Opening the file, Adam nodded when he saw Tony Stark's name appear on it.

He then saw the names of Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, and others. As part-time employees of the company, they were naturally all going to participate.

Only Phoenix and Professor were not on the list.

Phoenix was special; she couldn't use her abilities too much, or her second personality might emerge.

As for Professor X, he needed to stay at the school to keep Magneto and others under control at all times.

"Huh, Namor, with wings on his feet? This couldn't be Aquaman from Atlantis, could it?"

Looking further down, one participant's information made him pause.

He had seen Black Panther 2 and knew that when Vibranium fell to Earth, most of it landed in Wakanda, but a small portion fell into the sea, giving rise to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis.

And the king of Atlantis was Aquaman Namor.

After Black Panther T'Challa died of illness, Aquaman Namor even led Atlantis in a war against Wakanda, and his personal strength was quite impressive.

"That's good. The stronger the participants, the more exciting it will be."

He didn't pay too much attention to this unexpected participant, Namor. He took a sip of water and continued reading.

However, the next second, the water in his mouth almost sprayed out.

"Loki, Thor, Fandral, Volstagg, Hogun, and Sif? Why did these guys from Asgard also sign up?"

He remembered that Thunder God Thor came to Earth five years later, when Odin temporarily stripped him of his divine power and sent him to Earth for reflection. Why was he coming down so early?

But after thinking about it, it wasn't a big deal. As long as Odin didn't come to Earth, he could handle it with his current strength.

"It's really lively now. I wonder who can make it to the end and fight me."

Originally, he didn't have much expectation for his final opponent in this tournament. His strength had improved too quickly, and ordinary ability users were no longer in his eyes.

But now, he was starting to feel a little excited.

The divine realm of Asgard, the gods of Norse mythology, were a famous race even in the Universe.

Before, he mostly estimated combat power based on the cinematic representations he saw in movies in his previous life.

In reality, for beings like Thor, Loki, and Odin, whom he had never met, only a real fight would reveal their true combat power.

Moreover, this was not the main Universe, and many settings were different from the main Universe.

This was also an opportunity; by assessing the strength of Thor and Loki, he should be able to roughly determine some of Odin's power level.

Scrolling to the end of the list, he saw a few more unexpected people.

"What is Nick Fury up to?"

Indeed, at the end of the list were Black Widow Natasha, Hawkeye Barton, Captain Carter, HYDRA Steve, and Black Captain Marvel.

"Is it to get the promise from the organizer for first place?"

Nick Fury shouldn't be interested in the houses, cars, and prize money from the competition rewards.

The only thing that could interest Nick Fury was probably the promise that the first-place winner could receive from the organizer: to fulfill one wish of the first-place winner, as far as possible, without violating laws or morals.

The organizer this time was the League of Heroes, which was him, Adam.

A promise from him, Adam, would naturally be very appealing to Nick Fury.

However, after thinking about it, he felt that Nick Fury shouldn't be that foolish. To win first place, one would ultimately have to fight him.

Did Nick Fury believe that any of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s participants could defeat him, Adam?

Even if they didn't know his current strength, based on his performance during the Apocalypse event, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s strongest, Black Captain Marvel, should not be his opponent.

Unless Nick Fury knew his secret of needing a full moon night to transform into a Great Ape, or perhaps he had guessed something and wanted to verify it through this.

Of course, there could be other reasons.

"Whatever."

Adam smiled. Anyway, he could now transform into a Great Ape at any time, and even without transforming, he was confident he could fight Black Captain Marvel.

"It's a good thing. With so many Superheroes gathered, it will definitely be much more exciting than expected!"

After reviewing the participant information, he sent a confirmation to Susan and continued his training in the briefcase.

It was still a bit difficult to defeat Black Captain Marvel without transforming. He also needed to continue training well for these three days, and his Chakra and Shinigami powers were almost combined.

If he was fast enough, he might even be able to develop a new mode before the competition.

He remembered that the first time he transformed into a Great Ape and fought Black Captain Marvel, his combat power was about 1,500 to 1,600, and at that time, he only barely resisted by relying on his tough skin and thick flesh.

Now, his basic combat power was less than 1,300. He definitely couldn't win by relying solely on his aura, but he also had magic, Ninjutsu, and Shinigami powers. With all-around enhancement, his combat power would be around 3,000 to 4,000.

So, it wasn't a big problem.

Meanwhile, a meeting was also being held at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

"This is the mission. I hope each of you can achieve the highest possible ranking in this tournament.

I have already sent people to collect all the information on the participants so that you can know your opponent's strengths and weaknesses when facing each one.

Don't worry, you are not fighting alone. Behind you are Agents from the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. helping you with intelligence gathering and analysis!"

After the meeting, Nick Fury kept his wife, Black Captain Marvel, behind alone.

"Is it worth doing this for that small budget?"

Seeing everyone else leave, Black Captain Marvel asked, somewhat puzzled.

In her opinion, S.H.I.E.L.D. received a budget from most countries around the world, so there was no need to expose everyone to the public for the President's double budget.

The top Agents of an intelligence organization being exposed to the public was not a good thing.

Carter and Steve were fine; they were already war heroes and well-known to the public. She herself didn't mind, as she had already been exposed during the Apocalypse event.

But for people like Hawkeye and Black Widow, it would be very difficult for them to disguise themselves and go undercover for any future missions.

Especially since some of the ability user Agents recruited and trained by S.H.I.E.L.D. during this period were also basically required to sign up for the tournament.

She felt that Nick Fury must have another reason for doing this.
