Ezra
I stood there, still too close to Adrien, when Allen's voice cut through the air again.
"Why aren't you in the room, Ezra?"
Look who's talking. I almost blurted out but held myself.
His voice came out calm, but there was something in his eyes and tone that made my body freeze before I could use my brain.
"I…" I started, but my words got stuck halfway.
Adrien spoke before I could finish.
"I called him out," he said. "We were together in the dungeon. I just wanted to check if he was fine after I heard he was pardoned."
Allen didn't even look at him.
His eyes stayed on me.
Shit. This is bad.
He acted like Adrien wasn't even worth responding to.
Then Allen raised two fingers slightly.
A few attendants appeared immediately.
"Take Ezra back to the room," Allen said. "And make sure the place is properly guarded."
He paused.
"And I find out any of you disobeyed me, you'll have a lot to regret."
They immediately got to action. I was escorted out of the premises.
