The urgency and intensity in Allen's voice was all it took to convince me that this wasn't one of those times where being stubborn was the right decision.
I didn't think about it. I ran as fast as I could. My legs carried me out of the room and into the hallway, heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst. The atmosphere was tainted and heavy, like the whole palace was covered in dark energy. It reminded me of that night I fought my first hybrid ever. In the palace. It smelt awfully familiar.
The same suffocating feeling from before pressed down on my chest, almost making it hard to breathe. In all, I felt the difference between this time and back then. In the past, I had Syrus. Now, I was alone and if I didn't get somewhere safe, I'd be a goner.
