Allen said, "Why didn't you tell me?"
I looked down at my hands. "Because a lot of things were happening back then and I wasn't sure anybody would believe me."
Allen seemed deep in thought, his eyes far away for a moment. I asked. "What do we do?"
"We'll have to wait," he said. "He can't be the only hybrid in the palace. If we give him the slightest hint about what we know, he may try to escape and we can't have that. We need him to draw out the other hybrids in the palace. In the meantime, stay away from him."
I shook my head. "I have a feeling he knows that we know. At least, that I know."
Allen looked at me. "How?"
"I'm not sure yet but when I finally piece everything together, I'll tell you."
His expression was full of worry. I could see it in the way his brows pulled together and his jaw tightened.
"Let's go to bed now," I said, trying to change the subject.
