Ezra
Alpha Adrien said she got away. "I'll search the palace in case she's still around." He turned and left quickly. As he walked away, I noticed that same strange smell again. This time it was coming from him. It was faint but there, the same one I had smelled on Lysandra.
My stomach twisted but I couldn't say anything just yet. It could be the remnants of Hera's presence. Don't overthink it, Ezra.
Allen pulled me into a tight hug after the pod disappeared. He kissed my forehead softly.
"Go back to our room. I'll be right back."
I nodded and walked back to our room. My mind was racing the whole way. That smell from Adrien. It was the same one. There was no denying it.
When I got back, I started pacing around the room, back and forth, trying to make sense of it. But I stopped myself. I decided not to draw any conclusions until Allen came back.
Jumping to things without facts had gotten me in trouble before.
