I flicked my fingers, and every single one of our belongings, and every thing we owned vanished into thin air.
Ezra blinked at the empty space where our things had been. "Where did they go?"
"That's the least of our worries right now." My voice came out rougher than I intended, but I didn't have time to care.
I moved toward him, needing to free him from the binds, needing to get us out of this room before things went somewhere neither of us could take back.
But two steps in, I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Why did you stop?" he asked, breathless, his chest rising and falling too fast.
This wasn't good at all.
"I can't get to you."
"Why?"
"Because your pheromones are everywhere right now, Ezra. I can smell you from here." My jaw tightened. "If I get any closer, I won't be responsible for what happens next."
His lips parted like he wanted to argue. Why was he always picking the worst moments to start an argument?
