The night air was cool against my skin, but I hardly felt it under the warmth of my robe. We were out on the deck after spending the whole afternoon sleeping.
Above us, the sky looked like a masterpiece, crowded with shimmering stars that felt close enough to touch.
I held my wine glass, watching the moonlight dance on the surface of the wine as I stared upward, lost in the beauty of the sky.
Rhys was lying beside me on the deck. He pointed towards one of the stars and chuckled excitedly. "The sky looks so beautiful tonight, thanks to the stars," he murmured. He turned his head, his gaze shifting from the stars to my face. "But still not as beautiful as you are, Kayden."
I felt my cheeks flush, and I let out a soft, genuine chuckle. "Oh Rhys, you are such a flirt," I teased, setting my glass down on a nearby side table.
