Chapter 84 - Madam Pomfrey's Care

(A/N: Happy Birthday to me! Bonus Chapter! Enjoy!)

While Adrian was thinking hard, a gentle female voice rang out in the room.

"I suggest you lie down in bed for a while when you first wake up. It's best not to move."

Adrian turned his head and looked over. He saw Madam Pomfrey coming from the other side. The expression on her face was serious, and she was holding a large bowl in her hand. She brought it to Adrian.

"Come on, drink this potion first."

Adrian looked at the gray-black liquid in front of him. There was still some unidentified murky substance floating on top. He made a bitter face but still obediently picked up the potion and drank it.

The potions of the wizarding world didn't taste good at all. This was probably related to the strange potion ingredients.

"Valerian... Four-leaf clover... Rat tail..."

With his level four knowledge of potions, Adrian quickly identified most of the ingredients contained in this gray-black soup.

It was to speed up the recovery of magic power and calm the nerves.

"Well, that's right. It's basically correct, except you missed the tail wing of a black bat and a little snail slime. Unfortunately, I'm not a teaching professor, so I can't give you extra points!" Madam Pomfrey hadn't expected Adrian's potion level to be so high. Although he couldn't recognize everything, it was already quite good.

Hearing there was something like snail slime in the ingredients, Adrian's face changed and he almost vomited the medicine he'd just drunk.

'This is disgusting.'

"You'll need to rest for a few days, so you'll need to drink this twice a day." Madam Pomfrey said matter-of-factly, as if she didn't see Adrian's uncomfortable expression.

"In addition, how did you exhaust all the magic in your body?" Madam Pomfrey looked at Adrian very disapprovingly. "Fortunately, it was timely when Albus sent you over. Otherwise, you might have become a Squib in the future."

"That serious? There are no lasting effects, right?" At this moment, Adrian didn't care about the disgusting potion. He hurriedly asked.

"Not this time, but I hope this kind of thing won't happen a second time!" Madam Pomfrey said seriously.

Adrian nodded repeatedly like a chicken pecking for food.

Although he didn't know if this was Madam Pomfrey's exaggeration to scare him, it rang true. Either way, he didn't have the guts to try a second time.

In fact, if he hadn't forcibly gone for the kill at the end, he wouldn't have drained all his magic power.

After Mrs. Pomfrey went through a long list of precautions, she asked Adrian to rest more. Then she took the empty bowl away. Before leaving, she was still muttering about how he could end up like this in safe Hogwarts.

'Safe?'

Adrian's mouth twitched a few times. Over the past semester, he'd encountered or dealt with mountain trolls, fire dragons, unicorns, and even the Dark Lord at Hogwarts. Could this be called safe?

"How dangerous were other places?"

Adrian kept complaining in his mind when the door of the school hospital was pushed open again. The person who entered was Dumbledore.

The old Headmaster was wearing a conspicuous purple robe today, with a crimson scarf tied around his neck. He seemed to be in a good mood. After a few words with Madam Pomfrey at the door, he walked toward Adrian.

Adrian immediately activated Occlumency and spent a hundred system points to redeem the experience card mode. There was no help for it, he was just that cautious.

Who could blame his Occlumency level being too low?

However, Dumbledore didn't begin with some deep conversation as Adrian had imagined. Instead, he gently tapped the long table next to him with his wand and expanded it to form a semicircular dining table.

The snacks and cards on it seemed to come alive. They leaned against the wall and stacked themselves up, clearing the large area.

Adrian felt envious watching such wandless magic. He didn't know how long it would take him to do that.

"Even though Mrs. Pomfrey thinks you should eat something light, I still think I should ask your opinion first. How about it? Would you like something to eat?" Dumbledore spoke as elegantly as a waiter at a fine dining restaurant.

"A whole roasted lamb, please. Extra cumin... more pepper... thank you!" Adrian said.

Dumbledore's movement paused. He wanted to say that would be too greasy, but considering he'd offered, he had no choice but to wave his wand to fulfill Adrian's request.

A whole golden roasted lamb appeared on the extended table, sprinkled with cumin, spring onion, pepper and a little sesame. Next to it were thoughtfully placed lighter foods like corn cakes and apple pie, along with drinks such as lemon juice.

"Since you've been unconscious for two days, I think you'd better eat something else to settle your stomach first. Otherwise you'll upset your stomach, and Mrs. Pomfrey will never let me in again next time." Dumbledore walked forward and sat on the side of the bed, speaking helplessly.

'Unconscious for two days? Then why haven't I thirstedto death?'

Adrian had this thought, but quickly pushed it aside.

After being hungry for so long, Adrian casually ate a few pieces of apple pie, drank some lemon juice, then took a knife and fork to cut a piece of lamb and put it in his mouth.

He had to admit the house elves at Hogwarts were really skilled at cooking. The lamb's skin was roasted until crispy and golden brown, but the meat inside was extremely tender. The taste of the seasoning seemed to penetrate into the meat and remove the lamb's natural smell.

If this kind of cooking was also a type of magic, then he must learn how to do it.

Dumbledore sat quietly, watching Adrian's enthusiastic eating with interest. From time to time, he refilled Adrian's glass after he drank the lemon juice.

Perhaps because he was too hungry, in about half an hour, Adrian swept away all the food on the table, leaving only messy dinner plates. He burped with satisfaction and rested comfortably against the pillow.

Dumbledore did the cleaning work, swiping his wand to sweep the plates away, then returned the table with the extension spell back to its original state.

Adrian then remembered that Dumbledore was unlikely to have come just to deliver food. He became nervous for no clear reason.

But Adrian knew very well that Dumbledore couldn't be given a chance to ask questions first, so he spoke up.

"Professor, where's my Philosopher's Stone? I finally snatched it from the snake-faced wizard. Did you put it away?"

Adrian looked at Dumbledore expectantly. His eyes clearly asked:

'When do you plan to return the Philosopher's Stone to me?'

Dumbledore's expression froze for a moment, then he looked at Adrian with mixed feelings. When did the Philosopher's Stone become his?
