Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Four

As there was a time constraint of just fifteen seconds, Henry didn't waste any time taking the third shot.

Eric had already recovered at this point, so there was no opportunity for him to play any tricks; still, there wasn't really any reason for him to play any tricks.

He fired the ball past the mannequins, aiming toward the top right corner.

Eric reacted fast enough, but the ball was moving too fast to the extent that he was only able to get the tip of his glove on it before it smashed past him into the goalpost.

That was a stunning free kick, eliciting a series of gasps from the others.

Henry didn't have time to appreciate his own work and quickly proceeded to take the fourth shot.

Unfortunately, his accuracy was a bit off this time as the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over.

That would have also gone into the goalpost if it were on target, as Eric was nowhere in sight.

Henry didn't care much and quickly took the fifth shot which unfortunately, also ended up hitting the crossbar.

He just shrugged and glanced at Eric with a smile before walking back to where he had been standing before.

"He does have talent in taking free kicks." Adrian gave his honest evaluation.

"Mm." Oscar nodded in agreement. "But he's still not the best in our team."

"Not the best?" Adrian glanced over at him curiously. "Then who's the best?"

"He's not here at the moment."

"Not here at the….You mean the guy Henry was talking about earlier?"

"Yes, that's him." Oscar nodded. "He's currently the top scorer in our team with three goals, two of which were free-kick goals from the same match."

Hearing that, Adrian put on an intriguing smile.

"Now, I'm starting to get curious about this junior I've never met."

"I'm sure you'll like him when you meet." Henry chimed in as he had gotten closer to the two.

"We'll have to wait till I actually meet him."

The person after Henry had already started taking his shots. That was the younger of the twins, Nino Metes.

Nino Metes…..it would be best to keep him as far away from free kicks as possible.

Everyone up till this point was able to get at least one shot on target, but Eric didn't even have to do anything as the first two of his shots got nowhere near the goalpost and the remaining three just ended up hitting the mannequins.

After Nino was Leron Kell, who was only able to force one goal in with the help of his overwhelming shot power; that shot had rattled the crossbar before slamming into the goalpost.

After that, he only managed to get one shot on target. Two flew over and he hit the mannequins with the last one.

With Leron's turn coming to an end, it was finally time for Adrian to take the stage.

He walked forward, maintaining a distance of a few steps away from the ball before glancing at Noelle who had her eyes fixed on the tablet's screen.

Moments later, she raised her head and swept her eyes past him before putting the whistle in her hand into her mouth.

The moment he heard the whistle, Adrian quickly closed up on the ball and fired at the goalpost.

The ball flew past the mannequins from the farthest right, between their heads, and continued moving forward.

Eric reacted quickly, diving toward the ball with his left hand stretched out.

At first glance, it looked like he had gotten a good hand on it and would be able to palm it away easily.

However, that was what it only looked like at first glance as the ball suddenly deflected off his gloves in the next second and made slight contact with the woodwork before falling into the goalpost.

Nobody had a chance to react to what had just happened as Adrian had already taken the second shot.

Eric, who had yet to properly recover, could only watch as the ball flew toward the left side, striking right at the angle of the woodwork before falling into the goalpost.

Eric didn't have time to bother that much about that as he quickly got ready to receive the third shot.

However, he never would have expected what Adrian had in mind for this third shot.

With his left foot, he fired the ball, low, curling it toward the left. The ball made slight contact with the furthest mannequin and continued moving forward.

One of Eric's advantages as a goalkeeper was his height, and according to what Adrian knew, goalkeepers who were this tall weren't that good with low balls, especially in a situation when they are not prepared for it.

There was also the fact that Eric had only dealt with high balls throughout this free kick training session so he was in no way ready for this and could only stay rooted to a spot as the ball rolled past him into the goalpost.

Before he recovered from his daze, Adrian had already taken the fourth shot, this time with his right foot.

Once again, Eric was glued to a spot as another flew past him into the goalpost, this time from the right.

"Is this guy left or right-footed?" Oscar couldn't help but utter in shock.

"Right. His left foot is impressive but you can still tell it's his weak foot as it lacks the level of power his right foot has." Henry said with a firm tone.

"You think his left foot lacks power?" Oscar was starting to get confused.

For Adrian's last shot, Eric had to quickly snap out of his daze as he could tell that compared to everyone here, the person he was currently facing was on a whole different level when it came to shooting.

Adrian wasted no time taking the last shot; it was another low-driven shot, this time with his right foot and toward the right.

Eric was prepared this time so he was able to get to the ball with the tip of his gloves, pushing it off and preventing Adrian from going five for five.

Nevertheless, this was still the most impressive record so far, four goals and one shot on target.

Adrian wanted to go five for five but he was still okay with just four.

He shot Eric a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes before turning to Noelle who was staring at her intently, a slight frown on her face.

He shot a charming smile which only earned him a scowl from her before she turned to the stopwatch in her hand.

"Adrian Nero, ten seconds." She announced.

The moment she said, a series of gasps resounded through the area.

The best record so far was by Leron Kell who didn't have much accuracy despite finishing in thirteen seconds.

However, Adrian was done in just ten seconds while maintaining such good accuracy.

"He really is from Ravenwood," Henry commented.

"I think our chances of qualifying just increased. If he can maintain this level of accuracy, then all we just have to do is get the ball to him in good spaces for shooting, and he'll have a good chance of scoring." Savi, who was behind Oscar, analysed.

"I thought we'd have to struggle without Eston in midfield for the next match, but it looks like we have a gem in our hands," Aaron said.

"Don't be too happy yet, I have a feeling your coach might not even consider him for the next match." Leron suddenly spoke up.

His gaze was locked onto Noelle who was busy observing the person after Adrian. Adrian, on the other hand, was nowhere to be seen at the moment.

"Huh?" Aaron turned to him with a confused expression.

"It's just a feeling."
