Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: System, you selected the wrong host

Soon after, realizing that as an ORT, he wasn't actually afraid of water at all—his choking was just a lingering fear from his past life's memories—Orion quickly stopped coughing.

Thought I'd lost my strength after turning into a human body. Hilarious.

Beside him, a white-haired child was clutching their little crown, spitting water out of their mouth in bursts, looking like a tiny whale.

A blonde girl nearby rested her fishing rod on her shoulder, tapping it lightly, her beautiful amber eyes scanning the two figures on the ground—one tall, one short.

Finally, she couldn't help but ask, 'How did you two manage to drown in the shallows?'

For a moment, the air fell silent. The white flying creature, having finally finished spitting out water, slowly floated up.

Once the white flying creature's brain cleared up, it started working at high speed, then pointed a tiny finger at Orion beside them. 'Ah! I remember now! He suddenly appeared and hugged me, that's why I drowned!'

Orion looked at the white flying creature before him, and memories from his past life overlapped with the scene before his eyes.

Is this... Paimon?

Orion suddenly realized with a start, then hurriedly turned to look in the other direction. The stunning girl dressed in white, with short golden hair, two Inteyvat flowers pinned to her head, and a fishing rod tapping rhythmically on her shoulder—wasn't this the Traveler, Lumine?

Honestly, the Traveler from his past life was like a starter character. Orion still remembered being awestruck the first time he saw Lumine—this character was just too good-looking!

But later, as he spent more and more time grinding in the game, he grew accustomed to her appearance. Plus, more and more beautiful female characters were released, and on top of that, he often played as Lumine to interact with other female characters, so naturally, he no longer found her appearance particularly stunning.

But the past was the past, and the present was the present.

When Lumine's face appeared right before him so boldly, he suddenly realized just how magnificent this face truly was!

Seeing Orion suddenly freeze in place, Lumine and Paimon exchanged a glance, then leaned in worriedly, waving a hand in front of his eyes. 'Hey, buddy? Are you okay?' 'White-haired guy? Why aren't you saying anything?'

'Tch, what are you talking about? You're white-haired too!' Hearing Paimon's words, Orion snapped back to reality.

He had just been thinking,'So the Traveler can be this beautiful too?' (just kidding)

Orion stood up and thanked Lumine, 'Thank you for saving my life. My name is Orion. I fell into the water due to an accident. If I hadn't grabbed this little one here and you hadn't fished us out, I probably would've sunk to the bottom soon.'

'Oh, right, right, right!' Seeing Orion express his gratitude, Paimon quickly thanked Lumine too. 'Thank you, this... Traveler? Thanks to you, we didn't drown!'

Lumine glanced at Orion, who could easily stand up in the shallows if he just straightened his legs, then looked at Paimon, still floating and swaying in the air.

'Uh... You're welcome?'

If this were a treacherous world of cultivation or a dark forest-like apocalyptic world, everyone might have been more wary of each other. But thankfully, this was the 12+ world of Teyvat. After Orion, as a gesture of gratitude, pulled out a pile of fresh ingredients from his internal space, Lumine—who had only been fishing in the shallows because she was starving—and Paimon—the very embodiment of a foodie—quickly considered Orion a good friend.

The three of them set up a barbecue stand right there, enjoying the sea breeze as they ate.

Lumine looked at the electronic device Orion used to light the fire—recreated from the technological civilization he had consumed—then at the chilled canned soda in her hand.

'So, Orion, you're not from around here, are you?'

While eating, Orion pointed upward with his skewer. 'I came from outside.'

Hearing this, Lumine's eyes lit up. After being inexplicably summoned to Teyvat, waking up for no reason, being dragged into an escape by her brother, getting blocked by an unfamiliar God, and then waking up hungry and ending up here, the phrase 'I came from outside' felt no different from 'fellow Travelers in a foreign land.'

So, guided by Orion, the three of them began introducing themselves.

First was Orion. He briefly explained that he had been traveling alone through the universe, enjoying hotpot and singing, when he was suddenly intercepted and thrown into Teyvat. His current goal was to find someone.

After listening, Lumine couldn't help but think, 'All Travelers under heaven are like you and me!' Wasn't this experience exactly the same as her current situation?

So Lumine also shared her past: her homeland destroyed, traveling through the stars with her brother, visiting many different worlds before being inexplicably pulled here, failing to escape, her brother being captured, and now searching for him.

Watching Lumine draw simple sketches on the ground with a bamboo skewer, Orion fell into thought.

He vaguely remembered that the Skirk he was looking for might have seen these sketches before?

Did that mean if he waited here a little longer, he might actually meet Skirk?

After listening to their conversation, Paimon looked utterly confused. She tapped her tiny finger against her chin, thinking for a moment before saying,'So, you two are both aliens? One is looking for a brother, and the other is looking for a woman?'

'...I think you could've phrased that a bit less bluntly.' Orion wiped the sweat from his forehead. Why did my perfectly legitimate quest sound like some shady business when you put it that way?

After receiving confirmation from both, Paimon puffed out her chest proudly and declared, 'Well, you don't have to worry! From now on, let's travel together! With me, Teyvat's best guide, we can help each other find the people we're looking for!'

Looking at Paimon's energetic demeanor, Lumine and Orion exchanged a smile.

Although Orion considered himself quite familiar with Teyvat, this wasn't the game world but a real world scaled to the size of a normal planet. The beach before him alone was several times larger than the one in the game's opening. Without revealing his 150-meter-tall true form, tagging along with Paimon and Lumine for food and shelter didn't seem like a bad idea.

But since he was already in Teyvat, there was no way he'd stick to the game's routine of clocking in daily. Sneaking in daily quests during class back in school was one thing, but doing four commissions every day in the real world sounded like hell.

Thinking this, Orion kept his expression neutral. He high-fived Paimon, then extended a hand to Lumine. 'Well then, Traveler from beyond the skies, let's look out for each other from now on!'

Lumine responded with a gentle smile that could captivate anyone. 'Yes, let's rely on each other from now on, Traveler from beyond the skies!'

Their hands clasped together.

[Ding! Detected that the host has successfully transmigrated as the Traveler and arrived in Teyvat. System activated.]

[This system is a Journey Assistance System. By successfully completing God Quests, World Quests, Story Quests, Adventure Commissions, and other travel-related tasks, the host can earn Primogem rewards and draw various prizes!]

Orion's smile froze. He confirmed that the system was indeed in his own mind, then looked at Lumine, whose hand he was still shaking.

Who did you say I am? And whose system are you???
