In one of the guest rooms in the High Tower, the air was thick with tension as the Moonwillow guests gathered to discuss how they would get a meeting with the Alpha, to settle the long-standing feud, and deal with that woman who had betrayed them after everything they had done for her.
Without their pack, she would still be rotting in that no-good orphanage, or worse, among the packless, carrying random pups every year. But Beta Eliot and his wife had been nothing but generous to her, giving her a home and a family, and in the end she had repaid their kindness with nothing but disappointment and humiliation.
