The smaller dinner is at the farmhouse.
Nathan figures this out when Damien sends the address and he puts it in his GPS and the GPS takes him forty minutes outside Portland into the kind of countryside that doesn't have industry dinners. It has farmhouses. It has yards that go on longer than necessary. It has a porch with something on the railing that catches the December light in a way he can't identify from the car.
He sits in the driveway for a moment.
He has been to exactly zero dinners at a competitor's farmhouse. This is not a category of event he has attended before. He is wearing a jacket that is slightly too formal for the occasion he is apparently attending, which he understands the moment the front door opens and Aria Sterling Cross is standing in it wearing what appears to be a very good sweater and the expression of someone who is entirely unsurprised to see him and entirely aware that he's overdressed.
"Cole," she says.
"Sterling," he says.
