Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: The Frost Demon Race

If what Qin Yan said was true, and Frieza's true strength really reached a power level of 120 million, then they were utterly and completely doomed.

"Is this true?" Bardock asked, his voice low.

"What do you think?" Qin Yan replied with a question of his own, offering no further confirmation.

Silence followed. Qin Yan knew they had already begun to believe him. The Saiyans had served Frieza for a long time; they had experienced his terror firsthand on a daily basis.

They knew Frieza was powerful, but a strength of 120 million was so far beyond their wildest nightmares that it was simply difficult to accept all at once.

"120 million... Damn it! How can such an absurdly terrifying race even exist?" Fasha, Bardock's teammate, ground her teeth in a mix of fury and fear.

"Is there really no hope at all? Are we just waiting to die?" Qin Yan's father, Benas, was consumed by a burning rage with no outlet. His eyes were bloodshot, veins bulged on his forehead, and his fists were clenched so tight his bones crunched.

A powerful white aura erupted from his body, yet in his helplessness, he felt only a profound sense of grief.

Qin Yan's mother, Liya's parents, and Tora all looked pale, their faces filled with grim resolve. They realized their race was standing at the precipice of extinction. They knew the inevitable outcome but were powerless to change it.

A deep sense of helplessness and dread flooded their hearts. They had spent years conquering the universe and destroying others' lives and homes; now, the same despair and terror they once inflicted were theirs to feel.

"Even so, we have to fight!" the hot-headed Shugesh roared. He didn't want to die like a coward. The blood of the Saiyans, the universe's strongest warrior race, flowed through his veins.

"Fight? With what? Mindlessly charging against such an overwhelming gap in strength is just a meaningless sacrifice." Among Bardock's crew, Tora was the more level-headed one. He knew that bravery without power was just a death wish.

"There's more," Qin Yan spoke up again.

"More? What else could there be?" The group's hearts skipped a beat. They braced themselves for yet another wave of bad news.

As they suspected, Qin Yan's next words confirmed their fears. "Frieza's father and his older brother are also of the Frost Demon race. Frieza isn't even the most terrifying member of his family. His father, King Cold, and his brother, Cooler, are the true monsters.

Not only are they incredibly powerful, but the territories they rule are far larger than Frieza's. His brother Cooler is many times more powerful than Frieza. In their eyes, Frieza is little more than a child. He has great potential, but he hasn't truly matured yet."

"What?!" A wave of shock ripples through the group. Frieza had a father and a brother? And Cooler was exponentially stronger? A being with a power level of 120 million was considered an "unmatured child"? It sounded like a sick joke. What kind of freaks were they dealing with?

Qin Yan only mentioned that Cooler was much stronger; he didn't tell them about Cooler's four transformations. The blow was already heavy enough; their hearts might actually give out if he piled on more.

"Now, do you still think King Vegeta's rebellion has any chance of success?" Qin Yan asked.

The group was stunned. They had been so overwhelmed by the revelation of Frieza's power that they had almost forgotten about the King. Success? It was a joke. The difference in power was as vast as the heavens and the earth.

King Vegeta's mission was like an ant trying to shake a giant tree overestimating his own strength and striking a stone with an egg. They would be lucky if any of them survived as ashes, let alone succeeded in a rebellion.

They all knew the rebellion was destined for failure. The future of the Saiyans had never looked darker; Planet Vegeta was stepping into an absolute abyss of despair. They felt a crushing anxiety. Was this their fate?

"Oh, what are we going to do?" Qin Yan's mother, Melos, sighed weakly. At this moment, she felt small, helpless, and utterly hopeless.

The others nodded silently, sharing her sentiment. Their race had been thriving, their future seemingly bright, only to suddenly face total annihilation. It was unacceptable, yet they had no choice.

"Bardock, what do you think? What should we do?" Tora turned to Bardock. In their squad, Bardock was the backbone, the one with the strength and the leadership they all relied on. If Bardock made a decision, they would follow.

Everyone's gaze shifted to Bardock. Indeed, he was the core of the group and the most natural leader among them. They wanted to know his thoughts and what he planned to do next.

Bardock felt the immense pressure of their expectations. He frowned, equally at a loss. "Qin Yan, you know so much about Frieza. Do you have a plan to deal with him? You know how strong he is, yet you don't seem to fear him. You must have some sort of card to play; otherwise, you wouldn't be this calm. It's as if their strength is nothing to you."

"Heh. You all saw what I did just now. Moving from the distant Planet Meat to Planet Vegeta took only an instant. As I've said, I don't care about the life or death of the Saiyan race, nor do I care about the fate of Planet Vegeta.

Even if I can't beat Frieza, I can simply use this ability to leave. In this vast universe, I can go wherever I want. Even if Frieza wanted to find me, it would take him ages. And even if he did find me, I could just leave before he arrived. He can't touch me. I'll just wait until I'm strong enough to take my revenge later. So, it doesn't matter to me."

The Saiyans were a miraculous race, known as the strongest warriors in the universe. Their bloodline allowed them to grow through battle, becoming stronger as they faced powerful foes and constantly surpassing their limits.

As long as they were given enough time to train, they could achieve incredible power. While not every Saiyan possessed the same talent, the potential within their blood was real. Qin Yan was stating a simple fact.

The group froze. It was true. With such a technique, there was no need to fear Frieza. If you can't win, you can run. Their eyes began to fill with a glimmer of hope as they looked at Qin Yan, as if they had finally seen a way out.

"Then what is your plan? You know Frieza will destroy Planet Vegeta, yet you still came back and took this risk. You must have something you want to do."

"Hmph. Sharp as ever, Bardock. Fine, I'll tell you. I came back to take my parents and Liya's parents away. I don't care what happens to anyone else, but our parents are leaving Planet Vegeta no matter what."

Qin Yan couldn't help but admire Bardock. As expected of the protagonist's father, his insight was remarkable. No wonder he could influence Goku decades later; there was something special about the man.

Besides saving his parents, Qin Yan also wanted to see Frieza's true power for himself, but he didn't voice that. There was no need. As for whether his parents would agree to go, that wasn't really a concern. He would respect their choice, but if it came down to it, he'd just knock them out and drag them off.

"What? Son..."

"Karos, you..."

His mother and father were stunned. They never expected that his reason for returning was to save them. Their emotions were a chaotic mix. Melos felt moved and warm, while Benas felt a deep sense of shame.

He was a proud warrior of the universe's strongest race, a man of standing, and yet he was reduced to being rescued by his own young child. It was a bitter irony.
