Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Heading to Karin Tower

Qin Yan and Liya entered the small town without making a sound.

Walking along the streets of the rural town, only a few scattered humans were in sight. Some carried baskets on their backs, while others shouldered hoes and sickles.

It seemed they were all preparing to head out to the fields for labor. Some even carried hunting rifles, ready to venture into the mountains. They laughed and chatted amongst themselves, their lives appearing sweet and warm.

Familiar uniforms and familiar scenes Qin Yan felt as if he were looking at the life he had lived in his previous world. An unusual surge of emotion welled up in his heart.

To work at sunrise and rest at sunset; in his previous life, he had been just like them, spending his days in exactly this manner.

However, it seemed that such a life was drifting further and further away from him now. Qin Yan couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia and contemplation.

After everything bizarre he had been through and the opportunities he had gained, that kind of life was no longer what he pursued.

Qin Yan had experienced hardship, lived an ordinary life, and had known moments of weakness, sorrow, and helplessness. Looking back at his past experiences only made him more determined in his belief:

he had to keep growing stronger. The Heavenly Dao was heartless, treating all creatures as straw dogs. He wanted to take control of his own destiny and not be tossed about by the shifting tides of the world.

The path to becoming the strongest was fraught with peril, but he would persevere until he reached the very peak.

Qin Yan gazed toward the end of the town and then looked up at the sky. At this moment, his heart was incredibly firm. In the vast, boundless starry sky of the universe, there was endless magnificence and wonder. The Great Chiliocosm and the Myriad Worlds were the places he should truly pursue.

"Brother Qin Yan, there seems to be a clothing store ahead. Let's go take a look!"

At that moment, Liya pointed toward a small shop not far ahead and spoke happily.

Hearing this, Qin Yan followed the direction of Liya's finger. There really was a clothing store, and the plaque above the shop read "Youjia Clothing Store."

The name was certainly novel.

"Come, let's go check it out!" Qin Yan said slowly.

He took Liya by the hand and strode forward.

After a short while, the two of them entered the store. The environment inside was neat and elegant, with every detail reflecting the owner's taste and care. Soft light filtered through white curtains, spilling into every corner of the shop and creating a sense of peace and tranquility. The scale of the shop was decent as well.

The styles of clothing were diverse, ranging from adult sizes down to children's wear. The dazzling array of goods, modern elements, and unique design styles were quite eye-catching.

"Hello, little ones. Do you need any help? Where are your parents?"

A kind-looking middle-aged woman, seeing Qin Yan and Liya enter, hurried forward to ask. She was likely the proprietor. Because Qin Yan and Liya were just children, she mistakenly assumed they were in some kind of trouble and needed assistance. After all, no one would expect two seven or eight-year-old children to come in and buy clothes on their own.

However, to the owner's surprise, Qin Yan's next words left her stunned.

Hearing the woman's question, Qin Yan scanned the surroundings. There were so many outfits that he didn't know which to choose, so he looked up at the boss and asked, "We'd like to buy two outfits. Do you have any recommendations?"

"Wh... what?"

The boss lady looked surprised. She hadn't expected them to actually be there to buy clothes. She was momentarily taken aback. "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that?"

Seeing her reaction, Qin Yan thought she hadn't heard him, so he asked again.

"No, no, it's fine. I'm just a bit surprised that you're out buying clothes by yourselves at such a young age. Where are your parents? Why didn't they come with you?"

Qin Yan's words brought the stunned woman back to her senses. she smiled and explained, her voice carrying a note of concern for them.

"The adults are out working and didn't have time to come, so we came on our own," Qin Yan said, coming up with a random excuse.

"I see. Well then, follow me," the lady said, realization dawning on her. She led Qin Yan and Liya further inside.

Following her lead, they arrived at the children's clothing section. She pulled out several exquisite outfits for them to see, introducing each one as she went.

In the end, Qin Yan chose a stylish and cool outfit, while Liya picked one that was quite cute. After settling the bill, they put the clothes on and prepared to leave.

As for how they paid, there was no need to ask it was gold. Since Qin Yan didn't have any of the currency used on Earth, he could only pay with gold.

When Qin Yan pulled out the gold to pay, the boss lady was once again paralyzed with shock, frozen in place. Qin Yan didn't pay her much mind; he placed a handful of gold on the table and left with Liya.

Afterward, Qin Yan took Liya for a stroll around the town. Along the way, they encountered a pawn shop. Qin Yan went inside and traded another piece of gold for some cash so that he would have local currency for future purchases.

Although the town was remote and not particularly large or bustling, and quite a distance from any major city, the streets were lined with a wide variety of goods. There was everything one could want in terms of food and entertainment.

Liya was instantly dazzled. Her little head kept turning back and forth as she looked at everything. Whenever she saw something strange or unfamiliar, she would pepper Qin Yan with questions about what it was, just like a bundle of curiosity. Since Liya had almost never seen modern things before, everything seemed novel to her, and she wanted to touch and play with it all.

When she smelled the aroma of the street snacks, the little girl couldn't help but drool. Looking at her longing eyes, Qin Yan shook his head with a helpless smile and bought her whatever looked tasty.

This made the girl incredibly happy. She skipped down the street, her mood soaring.

By the time they reached the end of the street, Liya had her hands full of food and was chewing away, her face glistening with grease.

"Is it good? Are you having fun?"

Seeing her look like such a little foodie, Qin Yan spoke with a smile.

"Mmh... yeah, I'm happy! Hee hee!"

Hearing Qin Yan's words, Liya swallowed the food in her mouth and nodded happily, answering him with a beaming face.

"Haha! Good. Next, we're going to a certain place, and then I'll take you to see even more interesting things."

Qin Yan laughed. He planned to visit the lookout first and then take Liya to a big city. He wanted to have a good time himself, after all, it hadn't been easy to return.

"Really, Brother Qin Yan?"

The little girl's eyes lit up instantly upon hearing his words, and she spoke with great excitement.

"Mhm, let's go!" Qin Yan nodded.

Then, the two of them set off, flying in the direction of Karin Tower.

As for why they were going to Karin Tower, it was because Kami's Lookout was located directly above it.
