Shauna was sitting in the classroom drinking the water Lucas had prepared for her; some Medical herbs had been added, but it still tasted like sweet honey.
It was mainly to help Shauna strengthen her body. Although Shauna wasn't exactly weak now—she could even lift Lucas straight up off the ground.
Shauna capped her small Gengar water bottle and pulled out a small lunch box Lucas had personally prepared from her Gengar backpack. Opening it, she found some small pastries inside. Seeing the cute and exquisite shapes, Shauna grinned and popped one into her mouth.
So delicious~
Lucas had prepared this to prevent her from getting hungry after using her brain to study.
After eating two pieces, Shauna closed the lunch box and placed it on the desk of her seatmate, Chiyo.
She then looked at her backpack, which was stuffed full of snacks.
She pouted.
She had clearly said she didn't need so many snacks, but Gengar and Uncle Lucas stuffed her bag every time, telling her to share them with her classmates. As a result, she was now very popular in class.
Shauna wore her Gengar backpack on her front, took out the snacks, and placed them on everyone's desks one by one.
The students in the classroom would smile and say thank you to Shauna.
The school bell rang just as Shauna finished distributing the snacks. She returned to her seat. Chiyo had already finished the pastries in the lunch box, so Shauna took the box back and put it in her small backpack.
Chiyo looked at Shauna's backpack, which was always filled with snacks and pastries. She knew Shauna had an uncle who ran a Breeding House on Breeding Road and had also opened a shop near the school that specialized in desserts, cakes, and herbal tea.
It was said that the desserts and cakes there were delicious. Her family had tried to buy them several times, but they were always a bit late and missed out.
Once, while eating pastries her mother had sent someone to buy from there, she shared a piece with Shauna to let her try, while also mentioning how much she liked the pastries from that shop, though they were unfortunately hard to get.
Afterward, she saw Shauna shake her head and take a lunch box out of her small backpack, which contained even more exquisite pastries.
Since then, she hadn't gone to Gothitelle's Time Cabin to buy pastries anymore.
In class, while the Master was lecturing, Chiyo secretly tugged at the corner of Shauna's clothes under the desk. Shauna peeked back at Chiyo.
Chiyo handed her a few cute hairpins from under the desk.
Shauna looked at the hairpins in her hand, her eyes wide.
In her room at the Breeding House, there was a desk her parents and Uncle Lucas had prepared for her. The wall behind the desk had also been modified to display her dolls, photos, and various hairpins and hair ties Chiyo had given her. She had asked her parents to buy some for her too, but she could never find any as pretty as the ones Chiyo gave her.
Shauna gave Chiyo a toothy grin.
Her seatmate often gave her hairpins, hair ties, and pretty little dresses.
"Shauna likes Chiyo the best."
Taking advantage of the Master not paying attention, Shauna suddenly leaned over and whispered into Chiyo's ear.
Chiyo was staring at the Master on the podium. Hearing Shauna's words, her face instantly turned bright red. Shauna felt that her face looked just like the hairy crabs Uncle Lucas made yesterday—so tempting.
Chiyo's small hands tightly gripped the hem of her skirt under the desk as she stammered.
"I—I don't—don't need you to, to-to-to like me."
Her voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz.
Shauna didn't hear clearly, but seeing that Chiyo didn't intend to repeat herself, she stopped being curious and instead carefully examined the hairpins she had placed on the desk.
Her desk was different from the other students', or more accurately, her and Chiyo's desks were different.
Others' desks were either incredibly tidy with nothing on them or piled high with books, but their desks each had two small dolls.
The Master on the podium naturally noticed their little movements, but she didn't pay much attention to them.
Aside from other reasons, it was mainly because the two of them were always first and second in grades.
First and second from the top.
With good grades, being cute and obedient, what Master wouldn't like such students?
The lecturing Master suddenly felt someone calling her at the classroom door. She turned and saw the principal standing there, so she stepped out.
While the Master was out, Shauna handed the hairpins to Chiyo to put them on for her.
Before long, the Master returned with a somewhat sturdy little boy. Just as she was about to speak, she noticed that the two little girls who often whispered in class were now sitting upright with their hands folded, looking at her.
Looking closely, she realized they had some cute hairpins in their hair.
The Master smiled silently and nodded. Seeing this, Shauna and Chiyo glanced at each other and giggled behind their hands.
"This is a new student who just transferred to our school. Let's have him introduce himself."
After saying this, the Master nodded to the little boy.
The little boy was not at all timid and spoke loudly: "My name is Yik, and I'm from the Kanto Region. I've come here to study for now. When I turn ten, I'll set off on a journey, challenge Gyms, and become a top Trainer. Also, my partner is a Charizard given to me by my father, and my uncle is the Gym Leader of Oreburgh City."
Yik introduced himself loudly on the podium, looking quite smug. Hearing the surprised gasps of his classmates, he felt very proud, but then he noticed the two female students sitting in the middle whispering to each other, seemingly not listening to him.
Just as he was about to continue, he was interrupted by the Master. "Then student Yik can go and take a seat, and we'll continue the lesson."
Yik went to a corner seat and sat down.
Soon it was break time, and Yik's seat was crowded. Many people asked him if he had brought his Charizard.
He looked at Shauna and Chiyo in their seats and said loudly on purpose, "It's a pity the school doesn't allow Pokémon in class, otherwise I'd let you see what a truly powerful Pokémon looks like."
Someone mentioned that Shauna also had many powerful Pokémon.
He came to Shauna's desk and tapped on it. Shauna was chatting with Chiyo and, being interrupted, looked up at the little chubby boy in confusion.
"I heard you have powerful Pokémon too? What are they?"
Shauna immediately withdrew her gaze, not wanting to deal with him.
"It's a Rapidash."
Someone nearby said, and Yik chuckled. A Rapidash was hardly a powerful Pokémon; only his Charizard was truly powerful.
"Next holiday, I'll take you to my uncle's Gym and let you have a tour."
After speaking, he glanced at Shauna and the others, finding they had no intention of responding to him.
Shauna seemed to think of something. "Oh right, Chiyo, I have to tell you, several more sisters came to our Breeding House last night. They're all so beautiful."
"It's Sister Cynthia, whom I often tell you about. This time she brought Sister Diantha, Sister Shauntal, and Sister Caitlin over to play. Next time I'll ask my uncle if I can bring you back to the Breeding House to play together. I'm telling you, the Breeding House is so much fun, with so many cute Pokémon."
Chiyo naturally knew who Shauna was talking about. As the daughter of a wealthy family, she knew many things.
She nodded happily.
Meanwhile, Yik didn't believe it. He didn't believe anyone in Twinleaf Town would know Champion Cynthia and the others.
Feeling bored, he left Shauna's area and returned to his seat.
Seeing him leave, Chiyo secretly winked at Shauna.
Shauna leaned close to her ear. "I'm telling you, Uncle said not to play with idiots, or I'll turn into one too."
Chiyo immediately clutched her stomach and slumped onto the desk, her face flushed.
After school, Shauna and Chiyo went to the car sent by Chiyo's mother. Shauna was preparing to walk toward the shop after Chiyo got in, but the next second, a Garchomp descended from the sky.
"Little Shauna, let's go quickly before we're spotted and can't get away."
Cynthia waved at Shauna. Shauna's eyes lit up, she waved goodbye to Chiyo, and ran toward Cynthia.
"Goodbye, Chiyo."
"Sister Cynthia, are you picking me up today?"
Cynthia tweaked her nose and picked her up to ride on Garchomp.
Garchomp took off like a fighter jet, soaring into the sky.
Leaving Chiyo standing there.
She suddenly remembered what Shauna had said in class and laughed happily.
My Champion and Elite Four sisters?
Chiyo suddenly remembered an essay she had read called 'My Father.' Luckily, Shauna wasn't that kind of person.
On Garchomp's back, "Sister Cynthia, why are you the one picking me up today?"
"Because I was bored! I just happened to be out for a stroll, and knowing you were finishing school, I came to pick you up."
"What's wrong? Don't you like me picking you up?"
Shauna giggled.
"Not at all."
