Chapter 173 - The Dress Controversy 2

"Yifei-chan, this won't do! Absolutely not! How can you just randomly change the dress we had prepared? Now all the styling I planned is ruined."

The stylist frowned, his tone clearly accusatory, as if to say Xu Yifei was being unreasonable and throwing a tantrum.

Xu Yifei let out a cold laugh, her beautiful face hardening like frost. Her gaze turned icy as she fixed the stylist with a glacial stare.

"Heh, 'randomly'? Is it truly random? Take a good look—what's printed on this dress?"

As she spoke, Xu Yifei shook the dress in her hand, its skirt unfurling to reveal a massive R Empire military flag.

Seeing this, Fu Shan and the other Z Country colleagues who had accompanied Xu Yifei to the R Empire immediately stiffened. In the next instant, all their gazes turned toward the stylist. Their previous warmth vanished, replaced by the same cold, stern look Xu Yifei had, their eyes now as icy and severe as hers.

"See this? Look at the pattern on this. Are you *really* sure you want me to wear this for the live broadcast?"

Xu Yifei shot the stylist another cold smile and spoke in a stern voice.

The stylist's eyes flickered with guilt under her questioning. After a moment's hesitation, he tilted his head back and shouted with feigned confidence:

"This is an order from above, Yifei-chan. You *must* wear this dress for the broadcast. I advise you not to be so stubborn. Just put it on, get your hair done, and get to the broadcast quickly. Otherwise, delaying the broadcast will cause a broadcast accident."

"If that happens, Yifei-chan, you'll be in big trouble! The penalty for breach of contract alone will be hefty!"

The stylist refused to back down or change her outfit, instead acting completely unconcerned.

In his view, the TV station had her cornered.

Celebrities like her were usually sycophantic and timid.

*Just a few threats, and she'll fall into line,* the stylist thought with a smug smile.

But the smile froze on his lips as Xu Yifei immediately turned serious and declared, "If you don't change this dress, I won't cooperate with your makeup and styling. I won't participate in the upcoming live broadcast or any promotional activities either. Either change the dress, or I refuse to participate in the live broadcast and all subsequent promotions. You choose."

Her words were forceful and resonant, leaving the stylist and the KL Television staff present stunned into silence.

"This... Yifei-chan, please reconsider. It's just a dress; there's no need to be so stubborn. After all, falling out with KL Television won't benefit you," the stylist said, his face stiff, hesitantly.

Before Xu Yifei could respond, a man's voice came from behind her:

"Miss Xu, I advise you not to act rashly. Refusing to participate in the live broadcast and subsequent promotional events? Do you realize this is a serious breach of contract? If you go through with it, we at KL Television will sue you into bankruptcy! We'll make sure you never recover!" Minister Ji Yuan, speaking in broken Chinese, stood imperiously at the dressing room door, snorted coldly.

The commotion in the dressing room had alerted Minister Ji Yuan, who was overseeing the nearby live broadcast. He came to investigate and witnessed Xu Yifei's righteous refusal to wear the dress with the special pattern.

The arrogant and self-important minister, who considered himself superior to all, could not tolerate this defiance. He immediately spoke up, his words dripping with threats.

His tone made it clear: if Xu Yifei didn't comply, if she refused to wear the dress and participate in the broadcast, they would destroy her completely, ensuring she could never rise again.

"Did you forget to brush your teeth this morning?"

Hearing this, Fu Shan, standing beside Xu Yifei, didn't get angry. Instead, he smiled and raised an eyebrow at Minister Ji Yuan, who wore an arrogant expression.

"W-what do you mean?" Minister Ji Yuan was taken aback, clearly bewildered by Fu Shan's sudden and rather nonsensical question.

"Otherwise, why would you be so arrogant?" Fu Shan raised his eyebrow again, his gaze towards Minister Ji Yuan filled with amusement and disdain.

"You..." Minister Ji Yuan's voice caught in his throat.

Realizing belatedly that Fu Shan was deliberately mocking him, he let out an angry snort. "Hmph! Stop with the clever talk. Xu Yifei, hurry up and put on this dress and get to the live stream."

He then pointed at Fu Shan and the main creative team of the *Princess Huanzhu* drama, his voice dripping with menace. "And the rest of you—you'd better behave, or else... hmph!"

Minister Ji Yuan was certain that these Chinese would immediately cower under his "iron fist." After all, he'd seen this happen countless times before.

Threatening people was his specialty!

He couldn't believe the person before him wouldn't yield.

But, he had to admit, Ji Yuan was wrong.

And not just a little wrong—terribly wrong!

This time, he'd encountered a stubborn opponent who wouldn't compromise their principles!

"Whoever wants to wear this dress can wear it. I, for one, will never put it on!"

Facing Minister Ji Yuan's threats, Xu Yifei remained unmoved, her expression stern as she coldly reiterated her stance.

The moment she finished speaking, her small, cool hand was firmly grasped by Fu Shan's large, warm one.

"Yifei, you're doing the right thing! I support you!"

Fu Shan lifted Xu Yifei's hand, tightening his grip in his palm as he smiled at her with affection, tenderness, and unwavering resolve.

"Yifei, no matter what you say or do, I will always support you!"

With Fu Shan's encouragement, Xu Yifei couldn't help but smile, her heart warming as her convictions solidified.

She turned to glare coldly at Ji Yuan, her face solemn as she declared in a cold, firm voice:

"Furthermore, I will no longer participate in future livestreams or promotional activities. In fact, from this day forward, Xu Yifei will never again cooperate with KL Television!"

Arrogance, rudeness, and arrogance...

Xu Yifei could tolerate all of that.

But when it came to matters of national principle, she would never compromise.

As a Chinese person, how could she shamelessly wear a dress with such a pattern and participate in a livestream?

*Hah! Not in a million years!*

Ji Yuan and KL Television could dream on!

She would blacklist such a station for life!

She would never forgive them.

And she would never reconcile with them!
