Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: Fighting the Dragon VIII

Chapter 142: Fighting the Dragon VIII

Knowing that dragging it out further was useless, she knew she needed to end it quickly, but did not lose her vigilance. Immediately, at the base of the wings connected to the back, energy became dense. She darted away, immediately disappearing from the dragon's sight, leaving it utterly astonished.

"What? Is that woman still this strong?"

Immediately, its sensing ability detected Elyssia right at its left flank. But it couldn't react. Elyssia with her right hand delivered a powerful punch; high speed immediately closed in on the dragon's flank and unleashed an extremely strong punch. The dragon threw its neck to the sky in great pain; its flank was punched concave inward, the hard scales also couldn't endure it, the ribs cracked into many pieces.

It wasn't that Elyssia didn't want to be this strong from the start, but everything has its reason. Everyone is the same; they all have a certain level of energy emitted, and usually, it's at the most normal and familiar state. Therefore, that was the energy level Elyssia usually used; using more was still possible, but she used what was familiar; besides, not having fought for too long, there was no need to go all out; that is also a part of why battles usually last long. Primarily, combat skills are shown as they find the opponent's openings and cover their own.

Its body gradually moved and flew away. The red eyes like glowing embers grew even more furious; the tail swung upward wanting to hit Elyssia, but her left hand swung the sword; an energy slash tearing the air flew toward the tail.

Boom!!!

The explosion wasn't too large, but it also pushed the tail back a distance and stopped the offensive. The dragon's body flew away due to Elyssia's punch just now. That tail whip, when the dragon received the painful punch, showed its speed and reaction were incredibly fast, almost at the same time; also, despite the pain, its strong will immediately brushed it aside and whipped the tail.

When the dragon's body tilted like a leaning ship, from above, Kazuka and Airi fell from the air extremely fast. But the dragon was only blown away; its two wings were still flapping hard to regain balance. Its long neck let it turn back very easily; its large mouth opened to spit fire at Airi. Airi with her sword filled with energy, her body dense with energy. She swung her sword straight at the fire; her body was surrounded by dense energy, preventing her from being incinerated; the sword in her hand was gripped with all her strength trying to resist the fire. The fire at this time was like a waterfall and Airi was a ball being pushed up; precisely, the energy she surrounded herself with was indeed very similar. The reason she wasn't blown away by the fire was that behind her back, energy was constantly pushing outward like a jet.

The dragon blocking one person could only let the other slip through. Kazuka fell extremely fast, his face clearly showing excitement, his right hand gripping the sword full of energy as if he had waited a long time.

"Here is the chance, this time I'll definitely hit."

But the dragon also knew that; when it spat fire at Airi into a column pushing up, quickly the fire was cut off; it turned its head, wanting to flap its wings to fly away. Kazuka immediately realized the intent; he was forced to stop the intent to close in and instead unleashed an energy slash with an extremely large range fired straight down.

The dragon had just regained balance and couldn't avoid it. Kazuka's blue energy slash fired straight at the dragon's back, creating a long wound on both sides of the dragon's back. Kazuka felt very great and excited as he had hit, smiling like a child.

Takeshi below quickly controlled two blocks of rock to fly up very fast and catch Airi and Kazuka. Just now Airi and Kazuka flying that high was thanks to Takeshi using all his strength to lift both of them high up.

Elyssia kept silent and did not strike, waiting for an opportunity. The dragon just received Kazuka's slash; its body was lowered a bit due to the downward pressure from Kazuka's slash; its two rows of teeth clenched tight.

When Elyssia closed in from below, it was hard for it to react, only trying to tilt its body as if praying for luck. And indeed, it was lucky for the dragon, even though its consciousness was a bit chaotic. Elyssia closed in at its left chest; it should have tilted to the right, but it tilted to the left. However, it was lucky because the heart wouldn't be aimed at. Elyssia stabbed the sword upward; the sword stabbed straight into the middle of the dragon's chest, piercing through the thick scales and even through its ribcage bones.

The feeling of pain transmitted made it roar hoarsely; the wings flapped slowly and weakly. Precisely because it was too painful, the dragon did not use its legs to attack Elyssia. This created a short period of time, but in reality, in battles, it is very long. Energy pushed into the sword; Elyssia's eyes showed no fear.

Stab!!!

A glowing white energy line of Elyssia pierced through the dragon's body. Again, bad luck for Elyssia as that energy line did not hit the dragon's spine but deviated by a small distance. But dragon bones are very hard, usually used for weapons, armor, and many powerful items. That strike actually was hard to damage the spine, but if it hit, it could have created a wound for it.

The dragon's two red eyes rolled back in pain; it felt like it was about to lose consciousness. When that energy line pierced through its body, it indeed cut off one of its ribs. Though it was a dragon, it was still a young dragon; it hadn't endured such a shocking sensation of pain. It was a bit distracted; its consciousness was a bit lax, making it not focus on stopping the blood.

Elyssia pulled the sword out of the dragon's body; blood from the wound splashed onto her face and armor, her hair too. But right after, the blood stopped flowing, proving the dragon had stabilized its consciousness. Sharp claws swung back at the chest wanting to hit Elyssia. But she unleashed another slash running across the dragon's chest, making the lunging claws immediately stall; the body was like it was lifted and thrown backward.

Elyssia's right hand gripped the sword and raised it above her head, wanting to slash once more. But the dragon opened its mouth and spat fire; though it was in pain, it knew this was its moment of survival.

"Dammit, this will be my first survival challenge when going outside; I'm far from losing."

Stab!!!

Boom!!!

The fire cut off from the mouth; it was in so much pain that its head was like a void; black smoke covered its vision because Ayaka's energy arrow fired straight into its neck and exploded; its neck suffered a shock larger than all previous times because this time Ayaka had tried her best and used an extreme amount of energy.

Far away, Ayaka was kneeling on the ground, her body trembling because she had tried so much.

Along with the exploding arrow was an energy spear with the size of a tree stabbing from the right straight into its belly. Aoto in the distance with one hand thrust forward—his right hand—his eyes pinned onto the dragon; in his eyes appeared a flash of joy but the expression did not show. This strike of his indeed carried quite large damage.

The dragon was miserable; its consciousness was like it had been blown away. Its body fell below as if losing all strength. The energy spear as big as a tree also disappeared, leaving an extremely large hole in its belly; blood flowed without stopping.

While falling from high up, the wound showed signs of stopping the blood.

"A-Am... I losing? Is this the price of my curiosity?" A cute, weak thought-voice echoed in its head, showing it was a female dragon.

It was not reconciled at all; it had just come out; it hadn't seen many things. It was a curious dragon that loved freedom.

When the body fell, it immediately opened its eyes; the red eyes glowed again. Its wings opened; the giant body spiraled in the air and landed on the ground, causing the forest to be devastated, the ground cracking like a giant spiderweb. It opened its mouth and threw its neck to the sky and roared as if showing it had not lost yet.

"Ghaaaaaaaa..." The sound echoed to the point of being ear-splitting.

It remembered a line in a book.

"A battle is only a battle when one bets one's life."

In combat, even when the body is tattered with only one arm, one leg, or half a torso... That is still a spark to bring everything back. Being injured like that was only being tattered.

But indeed it was too hard for this young dragon; being ganged up on like this, even if it were stronger, it would be hard to escape. The dragon's body was using more energy to heal; the dragon's throat glowed powerfully, a hot, burning sensation to the point of discomfort inside its throat.

It had once learned, and it had seen a line like this: Every creature has a different limit; surpassing the limit is surpassing the wall obstructing oneself. But also remember, it's not for no reason that it is a limit. The immutable law of this world is like that; what we need to do here is stop walking on thin ice, because walking is treading on one's own dim future—who knows when it will collapse? So what must we do? That is to slide long on the ice, betting once and for all if one day we face thin ice.

A little girl with an incredibly cute flared black dress, black hair with a few blue strands added as an accent and increasing her cuteness. Sitting on a chair in a space in the middle of the forest. A large black dragon tail with rough scales wagged behind, making the dress lift a bit. Cheeks flushed red like a very cute steamed bun. On her head were two small black horns, growing from the forehead and protruding just a tiny bit like a newly sprouted bamboo shoot.

This horn position was quite similar to the Demon race, but dragon horns were just an object for beauty and there were only two. While currently, demons at the highest level had eight horns growing on their heads, not to mention many effects as well as fatal weaknesses.

The little girl was swinging her short legs, tiny black shoes, one leg with a black sock pulled high under the dress, the remaining right leg with a short white sock embroidered with flowers.

The little girl had just finished reading a saying in a book, tilting her head still not understanding what it meant.
