Chapter 143 - Chapter 143: Fighting the Dragon IX

Chapter 143: Fighting the Dragon IX

A young woman walked over, her figure very beautiful. Walking gracefully through the vines on the ground. A tight black outfit enhanced her figure. Behind was a black tail with spikes radiating in all directions like a mace. Black hair covered the base of two long black horns that stabbed straight without any curve, the length about a span of an adult.

The little girl also sensed the familiar energy and raised her head. A joyful, radiant face was clearly visible, two cheeks flushed red. The little girl's hand held the book with yellowed pages, the letters winding like snakes.

"Sister, what does this sentence mean?"

The young woman stepped closer and smiled lightly, seemingly quite fond of this cuteness.

"Seeing me arrive and not saying anything else, only asking me about the things it's curious about. Truly studious."

The young woman stepped closer and read the words in the book, her eyes glancing at the corner of the page. Smiling and slowly answering:

"This you need to learn yourself."

The little girl's face changed, turning into a pout as she puffed out her two pink cheeks, her eyes glancing at the young woman.

"Not telling again."

The little girl pulled the book back in front of her face, but then looked at the words at the corner of the book, curiosity once again stimulating the little girl.

"Then sister, talk about Dragon Gel Hirel. This is the author of this book, sister."

The young woman smiled, seemingly having forgotten that she initially didn't want to talk.

"That is the 3rd Dragon King of our Dragon Race."

Most dragon kings did not reign for too long. That's why there were many dragon kings. The current dragon king is the 155th dragon king. Showing the reign time is not too long, but compared to demons it's still short because the current Demon King is the 43rd. And the reigns of the kings of the races are recalculated from the beginning after the unification.

During the unification, two Dragon Kings died. Therefore, the 3rd Dragon King also participated in the unification of the Unification Demon.

The young woman continued:

"He was the bravest person of our race. He did many great things making our dragon race prosperous."

"But he met his limit. Becoming strong takes an incredibly long and difficult time. Not just becoming strong but also needing strong support."

"He pursued power, loved fighting and training."

"On a not-so-beautiful day for our race. The Dragon King died of poison."

The little girl was bewildered, her head full of question marks.

"Why did he die of poison? Was he assassinated?"

The young woman shook her head, her voice lowering:

"No, have you heard the story about the Unification Demon?"

The little girl nodded.

"Yes."

The woman also nodded.

"The Unification Demon had very great power. He also possessed an extremely strong weapon; inside were four creatures that would guard four forms of his weapon."

"Inside his sword, there was a dragon he subdued and it helped much in his great cause. That was an extremely strong poison dragon that while Lord Dragon Gel Hirel went along, he witnessed its horrific power."

"After the unification ended. Our Dragon King came to request the Unification Demon for a duel with that poison dragon. You understand the outcome."

The little girl was still curious.

"So he only needed a life-and-death match?"

She stroked her chin in thought.

"That was also a part of it. The remaining part was wanting to seize the opponent's power if he could kill it through an agreement between both."

"He said dying of poison was actually just a way of speaking for honor. Actually, he used all his strength in that battle, causing him to die right in the battle."

The dragon girl interrupted: "But I see, why would he go and fight then die when everything was peaceful?"

The young woman smiled.

"That's why I said why that battle had many reasons. People in the race cannot kill each other, but outsiders are different. That poison dragon had followed the Unification Demon, so it was no longer a person of the race."

"The most special thing is that poison dragon was an ancient dragon, living very long after the unification. Once killed, the Dragon race would rise if the entire body of that poison dragon was sold."

"We had exhausted, one must say, everything in the race for a bright future without war. Even at that time after everything ended, we only had over 3000 dragons left."

The little girl seemed to understand a bit, but reflecting on it, it was still vague.

The young woman, as if realizing she had blurted out too much information to the little girl—this information was usually hidden so it could be said to be secret information about the honor and history of the dragon species. She forced a smile, trying to salvage the situation:

"Remember not to say what I told you, it's a secret."

The little girl nodded, smiling.

Returning to the battle…

The young dragon at this time remembered that story; not sure if it understood clearly or not, not knowing why and what inspiration made it feel similar. But it had taken that story as its determination.

The throat glowed intensely and was burning hot. It seemed it wanted to use its life to fight in this battle. The 3rd Dragon King also did so.

Elyssia, flying above, seemed to understand through this clear energy perception. The first thing she thought of was not finding a way to take down the dragon or whether she would face difficulty. What she did was shout loudly for everyone to know:

"Everyone, from now on, do not fight anymore. Leave the rest to me, quickly get far away from here."

To be fair, Elyssia was still not too afraid.

"Most dragons, when they feel they are at a dead end, will bet their lives and try their best, so there will be some trouble here."

From afar, the dragon opened its mouth wide, glowing red with fire; the burning hot sensation in its throat made it extremely uncomfortable but it still tried to endure.

"I am far from dying; as long as I escape, I will surely recover. Generally, as long as I live."

Unlike humans, if using too much energy one can be overloaded, exploding is the same for everyone, but a broken energy gate will make that person like a faucet without a valve, unable to store anymore. But for dragons or species with healing abilities, that is not an issue and they can recover. A human whose arm is cut off cannot grow it back, forced to use the old arm to reattach and try to connect, or use another arm to connect but it's not effective and a few other ways. As for species with innate healing abilities, being cut in half or divided small, they can still recover.

An extremely large flame was unleashed like a large column. The burning fire made the heat make the space look warped; it tore the air and headed straight for Elyssia.

But Elyssia was not afraid; her two eyes that were closed suddenly opened. Her right hand with extreme speed swung over her head and immediately lowered with extreme speed, showing her arm movement was incredibly fast.

An extremely strong white energy slash tore in half the energy column heading toward her and surged toward the dragon. It seemed that even if it pushed its body past its limit of limits, it was not Elyssia's opponent when exchanging strikes. That is, the initial limit was the highest energy level that according to its instinct it usually used, then the next limit was the limit of its entire being.

Two wings spread wide, shielding the light of the forest; the fire was cut off from the mouth. Two wings flapped hard, making both sides of the forest like they met a gale, tilting and falling. The dragon darted up into the air with extreme speed.

Elyssia flapped the four wings behind her back hard and chased immediately after.

"Wanting to run? It might be like last time it flew away then came back; best to chase for a distance and see."

The dragon's speed was extreme, but Elyssia was no less fast and chased right behind.

The dragon saw Elyssia chasing; it then banked a loop and turned back. The large mouth opened and roared, lunging like an arrow fired toward Elyssia who had stopped when seeing the dragon loop back.

The distance was quite far. Elyssia raised her left hand in front; at her palm, an extremely dense energy spear was slowly being formed; she did it as if it were emerging from her palm. When the dragon flew close, it didn't even care about Elyssia's spear but just flew toward her.

She opened her palm wide right as the dragon closed in.

Stab!!!

The energy spear fired straight into the dragon's eye, but the dragon's body at this time was like a furnace while the dragon was like being incinerated. The feeling of pain when being stabbed in the eye was almost nonexistent; it seemed it had lost sensation; its throat at this time was extremely painful.

If this little dragon had been willing to open its mouth to talk and negotiate with the group, perhaps it wouldn't have come to this scene.

Elyssia with cold eyes, even though the dragon was stabbed in the eye by the energy spear, it did not stop and the large mouth wanting to bite her still lunged. But her right hand holding the sword had always been in a ready stance; she swung the sword from above down.

Because this time the dragon used its mouth to attack, there was a lot of energy gathered at the mouth. But the dragon was fighting while using a lot of energy by using its own life, while Elyssia was not.

Elyssia's slash split vertically the lower jaw of the dragon; because there was a lot of energy at its mouth, she also knew that and funneled even more energy but it was reduced in power significantly. The dragon's head according to the force slammed straight downward; the lower jaw only split quite deep, almost to the base of its tongue.
