Chapter 144: Fighting the Dragon X
Stunned by receiving a powerful strike, its body fell straight downward. But while its body was falling, its lower jaw was gradually recovering at high speed.
Its body radiated intense heat; steam emitted, and its throat was as glowing red as charcoal, clearly visible from the outside. The wounds were closing at top speed. Its perception immediately detected Elyssia diving vertically down in pursuit. It immediately flapped its wings hard, spun its body, and regained balance.
Boom!!!
The dragon landed in the forest; the massive weight of its body was like a giant stone block, causing the ground to shatter; the forest currently only had fire and deep pits burning with thick smoke.
Elyssia charged straight down; her white eyes like milk marbles made it difficult to show what her current expression was.
The dragon threw its head up, its right leg swinging powerfully upward, wanting to tear Elyssia apart. Elyssia's sword slashed down and was immediately blocked by the dragon's claws; the two sides grappled, emitting a great deal of energy. Although it was in its strongest state, its disadvantage remained. It clearly felt Elyssia's angel energy neutralizing its own energy; it was being overpowered and felt that if it held on longer, the right leg blocking this strike might be slashed in half.
Its left leg swung up, and along with it, the tail circled above its back like a scorpion's attack stance. Its mouth opened wide, and the glowing red fire was prepared to be spat out.
Boom!!!
Dust and smoke flew blindly; Elyssia had created interference energy mixed with her stable energy and exploded. The dragon roared, its wings flapping wildly to blow away the black smoke. Its right leg had been exploded, losing one toe with only three large toes remaining. It did not care and tried to sense Elyssia's energy, but Elyssia moved too fast, making it unable to sweep and keep up; it turned left and right in panic, trying to catch Elyssia's movement.
Her wings had retracted; Elyssia darted very fast, immediately stopping and facing the dragon's left flank; she unleashed an energy slash that was quite small but very thin, wanting to cut deep into its body. Right when Elyssia stopped was also when the dragon sensed her and turned, but it did not see Elyssia, only saw the energy slash charging in.
The dragon swung its right leg, shattering the energy slash; its vigilance was rising even higher.
"I will slide long; you make it difficult for me. As long as I live, I will still have a path ahead."
Feeling that fighting on the ground was not good for it, the dragon spread its two wings and flapped hard, wanting to fly into the sky to return to its playground. But Elyssia had been waiting for exactly this moment; she charged in, closing in on the base of the wing connected to its body.
Stab!!!
The dragon let out a loud, tragic roar; the bone-deep pain made tears flow. The giant wing fell to the ground; it was also the moment its despair rose high and enveloped its mind.
Elyssia landed on the ground far away; she sprang powerfully, making the ground shatter like a giant spiderweb, then she darted at extreme speed; when at a sufficient distance, she sprang up and closed in on the dragon's neck which was standing upright; the roar of pain was still calling but hoarse and weak.
Despair enveloped the dragon's mind, but sometimes luck still comes to it.
Everyone is like that; sometimes we don't even understand why we are like that, how we did it, how we thought of it, our luck…
The dragon suddenly remembered it could transform into a human, something it had forgotten until now. Initially, it was interested in the group so it forgot; later, the tense situation made it forget, but suddenly thinking of it was truly the rope saving it while drowning.
Elyssia gripped the hilt with both hands and swung from left to right in a horizontal sweep, wanting to cut the dragon's neck. Suddenly she slashed thin air; hovering in the air within her sight was a little girl; Elyssia opened her eyes wide in confusion.
A little girl with an incredibly cute flared black dress, black hair with a few blue strands added as an accent. A large black dragon tail with rough scales wagged behind, making the dress lift a bit. On her head were two small black horns, growing from the forehead and protruding just a tiny bit like a newly sprouted bamboo shoot.
But the current situation was different from when the little girl was normal; her mouth was full of blood, and behind her back, blood soaked the black dress; the little girl's face was pale. She quickly jumped down into the forest and turned to run away.
Elyssia landed on the ground and frowned while watching.
"Indeed, a young dragon."
She recalled the events from the beginning until now.
"But why did it attack us? I must catch it to ask."
Elyssia immediately darted at extreme speed, chasing that young dragon. The young dragon ran ahead, panting "hồng hộc" to an empty patch of ground where the fire was gradually dying out, caused by the little girl's own fire.
The whole group far away, seeing the dragon suddenly disappear, was also confused. Aoto hurriedly shouted:
"That dragon turned into a human; quickly go to Elyssia's place."
Just like that, the whole group was also advancing.
Elyssia was running; she focused on transmitting energy to her hand and created an energy sphere; her right hand holding the sword was also ready if that dragon counterattacked. But unexpectedly, a strange energy she sensed was charging in very fast.
Elyssia was only running; she focused on the sphere a bit too much; normally, she wouldn't need to focus to create the sphere, but everyone is hard to understand like that; she focused on creating the energy sphere. This made her sense it slower, but it wasn't that she couldn't react; she made mistakes too—not making mistakes is truly rare.
This strike charged in and aimed for Elyssia's neck; because of the slow reaction, she did not dodge. She utilized her right foot just touching the ground while running, lightly pressing the tip of her shoe to make her body jump up a distance; it seemed Elyssia was still quite confident.
Stab!!!
A purple energy slash cut Elyssia's body in two parts: the upper torso and the lower torso. The whole group just running up also witnessed this scene; everyone opened their eyes wide in shock.
The healing ability of an angel is not very prominent, but the ability to control energy is on a different level. Elyssia jumping up like that had a reason.
When her body was cut in two, energy threads from the upper torso immediately fired out, attached to the lower torso, and pulled the lower torso up to join the upper torso; immediately after, they were reconnecting and recovering. This showed her energy control was at a very strong level and her reflexes were also extremely fast, not to mention her head was very cold while handling the situation.
Even Airi, a vampire with strong healing abilities, had to open her eyes wide in shock—shocked because Elyssia's energy control was unexpectedly that strong.
Kazuka and Takeshi's mouths hung open; Aoto also opened his eyes wide; Ayaka was extremely shocked.
Kazuka: "What the hell?"
Takeshi: "Huh?"
In the distance, on a treetop. It was an individual wearing a black cloak covering their head, holding that unconscious young dragon girl.
Elyssia clearly sensed this was dragon energy; her cold eyes pinned onto him; her vigilance pushed high.
The black sword in his hand suddenly disappeared; this person spoke up; just hearing the voice, one could tell he was quite old, showing he was a dragon who had lived for a long time.
"It can end now."
Elyssia also guessed who this was.
"It seems this is an elder or a close dragon servant coming to take that dragon back; they found the location really fast."
"If so, then we won't do anything else either; consider it finished."
This person glanced at Elyssia then swept his eyes to the rest who were tensely looking at him; Aoto had just reminded everyone that this was also a dragon, so everyone was quite tense.
The cold eyes behind the black cloak withdrew; he smirked.
"Hmph, what kind of motley crew are you?"
"What if I return and report to the Yokai race that there is a wandering Elemental outside who even attacked the Dragon race?"
Aoto's face suddenly changed; he knew he might be caught and returned to the race immediately. Elementals and dragons have had very good and long-standing relations, even before the unification; not to mention Aoto sneaked out, so the Elemental race sending people to bring him back was entirely possible.
Elyssia stood in front, glanced back, then turned around. She also knew about this issue, but now everything was in the hands of the person before her; he only needed to notify, and Aoto would be taken back immediately.
"Is that your business? Get lost. Otherwise, it will be hard for you to leave."
The person in the black cloak let out a cold "huh" of contempt, not regarding Elyssia's threat as anything.
"A vampire, an Elemental, an angel going together—truly interesting. But it looks like you all are prepared to say goodbye."
After saying that, the dragon sprang with a powerful leap; the tree was crushed; he sprang backward extremely fast and far, then disappeared. Elyssia did not pursue; she stood silently watching; if there were a real fight, only she could fight while the others could not, so she had to let him go.
The eye at the back of her head closed, her eyes returning to ice-blue; she turned and went toward everyone.
Takeshi rested his hands on his hips and let out a long sigh.
"Well, that's it; we've run into big trouble."
Kazuka also scratched his head in confusion.
"Dammit."
Airi let out a long sigh.
"Truly annoying."
Aoto shrugged, his face clearly showing boredom and helplessness.
"Initially when I sneaked out, I also thought there would be a day like this, who knew it would come so fast."
Ayaka pointed toward Airi, her voice worried:
"Airi will meet the biggest trouble; she is a vampire princess; once this information is spoken, Airi being caught and brought back is a certainty."
Elyssia sighed, her voice lowering quite sadly. Although she had only interacted with everyone for a short time, the innocence and carefreeness of everyone made her feel very great.
"I have nowhere to go; I want to go with everyone."
Kazuka was the one who started this idea of going together; he also knew he needed to think of the best solution for everyone. Thinking for a moment, he spoke up:
"Everything has already turned out like this, so let's try harder. Currently, if the information is revealed, they will probably think we are only in the kingdoms around here. So let's take the chance and run very far away."
