Inside the Mysterious God Temple, Bai Yue slowly opened his eyes and carefully sensed his surroundings.
The oppressive suppression that had blanketed the entire Temple was gone.
With the death of Lianfeng King Yuan Bin, the Mysterious God Temple had returned to an ownerless state. Naturally, all restrictions imposed by the Primordial Universe's will vanished with him.
With a thought, Bai Yue retrieved a bracelet-shaped artifact from his Original Universe.
The moment his World Lord–level divine power flowed into it, ownership recognition completed effortlessly.
Lian Huo Bracelet.
The true core of the entire Mysterious God Temple.
As his spiritual will merged with it, Bai Yue's perception expanded explosively. In an instant, the full internal structure of the Temple unfolded before him—every palace, every sealed space, every restriction array. Even the surrounding chaotic space-time, the misty illusion field, and part of the external region appeared clearly within his awareness.
At the same time, Bai Yue glanced toward Yan Ji.
She was also looking at him, her gaze complicated, layered with vigilance, relief, and something closer to resignation.
"Who are you now?" she asked quietly.
"I am Battle King," Bai Yue replied calmly. "And I am also Human—Bai Yue."
Yan Ji's reaction surprised him.
She showed no shock.
No anger.
Only indifference.
"You don't seem to care," Bai Yue said.
"Care about what?" Yan Ji's voice was cold as frost. "About him?"
Bai Yue raised an eyebrow. "So you knew."
"I knew from the first moment I saw him," Yan Ji said flatly. "That person was not Master. I stayed only because I hoped there might still be a way to save him."
As she spoke, Yan Ji waved her hand and stored Lianfeng King Yuan Bin's corpse away.
Bai Yue did not stop her. A corpse held no value to him.
"What will you do next?" Bai Yue asked with mild curiosity.
"I don't know." Yan Ji paused, then looked up. "Did you kill him?"
"Yes," Bai Yue answered without hesitation. "He attempted to take over my body. So he died."
"Good." Yan Ji clenched her fists. "It's a pity he didn't leave behind any way to save Master."
Her voice wavered slightly.
Bai Yue thought for a moment, then spoke slowly.
"Your Master truly died the moment his soul was devoured. However… revival is not impossible. A Universe Lord, with mastery over time and space, can forcibly resurrect the dead."
Yan Ji's eyes lit up instantly.
Hope surged within her—but it faded just as quickly.
She had never once come into contact with a Universe Lord.
Finally, as if making a firm decision, Yan Ji knelt before Bai Yue without hesitation.
"Lord Battle King," she said solemnly, "I am willing to follow you, to acknowledge you as my Master, serving as your slave and maid. I only ask that once you become a Universe Lord… you help revive my Master."
"This bad woman—Master, don't believe her!"
Long Kui's indignant voice rang out inside Bai Yue's mind. One could easily imagine her fuming within the virtual space.
Bai Yue smiled faintly and gently soothed Long Kui before replying.
"You place a lot of confidence in me. I'm only a World Lord. I haven't even become Undying yet."
Yan Ji raised her head, her eyes unwavering.
"Your origin is mysterious. Your opportunities are vast. I believe you will reach Universe Lord sooner or later."
Bai Yue laughed.
"There's no need to become a slave. Stay here and help me manage the Mysterious God Temple."
Reviving Lianfeng King Yuan Bin after reaching Universe Lord was not impossible. Their karmic connection still lingered through the treasures.
Yan Ji froze for a moment, then bowed deeply.
Bai Yue sat down, sipping the tea that had long since cooled, while his consciousness fully immersed itself into the Temple's structure.
The Mysterious God Temple was divided into four main palaces:
Front HallTransit HallArtifact HallRefining Fire Hall
From the outside, the Temple appeared compact. Inside, however, it contained near-infinite space. Even a single room—such as the pet-rearing chamber left behind by Che Houyuan—was equivalent to a complete small world.
Standing at the Front Hall, the Transit Hall lay to the left, its doors open. The Artifact Hall stood opposite. The Refining Fire Hall lay to the right, its massive doors sealed tight.
The Refining Fire Hall had once been the true core of the Temple. The Lian Huo Bracelet and Che Houyuan's inheritance had been stored there. Entry requirements were extraordinarily strict.
Now, however, Bai Yue was its master.
The doors opened silently.
Inside, Bai Yue discovered the truth.
The so-called inheritance obtained by the Lian Xing Clan had merely been entrance examination material—fire cultivation techniques and restriction array fundamentals used to test entrants. Only by mastering them could one proceed further.
And yet, those "test questions" had become the renowned artifact-refining inheritance of the Primordial Universe.
It was both ironic and amusing.
Like a storm sweeping through, Bai Yue collected everything of value, sending it all into his Original Universe for analysis. He was eager to see what kind of sparks would be born from the collision of knowledge across universes.
The treasures alone were staggering.
In the Star Transformation Universe, Heavenly God Artifacts corresponded to True God–level treasures in the Devouring Starry Sky Universe—known as supreme treasures. Quality varied, but the hierarchy aligned.
Among his possessions:
Feiyuan Divine Boat – third-class Hongmeng Spirit TreasureMysterious God Temple – third-class Hongmeng Spirit TreasureLian Huo Bracelet – borderline second-class Hongmeng Spirit Treasure
As for Fu Bo, the steward from legend—he was gone. Long destroyed while covering Yuan Bin's escape.
The remaining Lian Xing Clan members were imprisoned within the Transit Hall. Bai Yue had no interest in dealing with them immediately.
His objectives in the Ninth Battlefield were complete.
It was time to retire.
The Mysterious God Temple shrank under Bai Yue's control, merging into his body. The void it left behind was quickly sealed by flowing metal, restoring the iron curtain as if nothing had ever existed there.
The Primordial Universe consciousness observed for a long time.
Finding no trace of Lianfeng King Yuan Bin, it eventually withdrew.
Bai Yue submitted his retirement request.
Approval came swiftly.
Initial Universe — Primordial Chaos City.
Within a quiet courtyard marked Primordial Chaos Ruins, a towering figure sat cross-legged.
Primordial Chaos City Lord opened his eyes.
"So… he's finally retiring."
He smiled faintly and sent a message to Bai Yue.
On the Ninth Battlefield, Bai Yue gathered his soul servants.
One of Iron Fiber King's servants possessed a teleportation anchor within Ganwu Universe Country.
Moments later, divine light enveloped them.
Teleportation.
Two months later, Bai Yue arrived at the Gan Wu Secret Realm.
Stepping out of his spacecraft, already restored to his Earthling form, he appeared before the central divine hall.
The Undying guards stiffened—then saluted deeply.
"Greetings, Your Highness Bai Yue!"
Before further words could be exchanged, a majestic voice echoed from within.
"Let him in."
Gan Wu Country Lord was waiting.
"Teacher," Bai Yue said respectfully.
"Haha! You're finally back," Gan Wu Country Lord laughed, pulling him along. "Come—drink with me first."
In the quiet courtyard, wine was poured.
The battlefield was far away now.
For the moment—
It was time to rest.
