[3rd POV]
"You know, I was half expecting your family to keep you there. Or for your mom to back out on the deal" Billie said, as she drove towards the private airport, her girlfriend sitting next to her with an excited look on her face.
"Oh she tried. But I told her that if she stops me I'll disown her" Haley replied with a still giddy expression, not even reacting to what she had just said. Billie looked over at her with a raised eyebrow, but decided not to comment on her words.
"Oh, and happy birthday baby" Billie added, remembering that it was her official birthday today, and she was now 18. When she remembered that fact, certain...ideas came to mind, but she shook them off.
'Bad Billie! No horny thoughts about your girlfriend, not right now' Billie thought, inwardly slapping herself in the face, not wanting to think about that sort of thing while she was in the middle of driving...even if it was a really nice thing to think about.
"Thanks babe" Haley replied, a smile on her face as she leaned over and pecked Billie on the lips when they got to a red light. The kiss lasted a bit longer than usual, and when Haley did pull back, she gave her a rather...sensual look.
Billie breathed in when she saw this.
'...I'm going to need a lot of self control during this trip, aren't I?'
Oh...she had no idea.

Another 50 minutes later, they had gotten to the airport. The drive had taken longer than usual, thanks to the dogshit California traffic, and thanks to a rather large car accident having taken up a part of the highway, the drive took a lot longer than usual. It would have been a 25 to 30 minute drive if that had not occurred.
Thankfully she had planned ahead in case something like that had happened, and made sure that the jet would wait for them. Something that was normal, but she had to make sure that they did not leave. She didn't want the trip to get ruined because someone was impatient or something.
Now sitting in the jet, waiting for take off, Billie glanced over Haley's shoulder as she sat next to her. The girl was on her phone, sending texts to her family.
"You missing them already?" Billie asked, amused as she looked over the texts.
"Nah, I was just telling them that I'll be on the flight so I can't respond to any of their texts or anything. Don't want them to get mad later on if I don't respond to a call or something" Haley replied with a shake of her head, not agreeing with that assessment.
"Mmhmm, whatever you say, Hales" Billie said with a small smirk, knowing that her girlfriend might not miss them right now, but she was confident that she would within the next couple of days.
It was one thing to go over to Seattle, which was not that far from California. But it was an entirely different thing to go (pretty much) across the entire world, hours away from California into a foreign country that neither of them have ever been to.
While also being that far from her parents. So Billie really didn't blame her girlfriend for being nervous or anything, as it was completely fair, and she would be too if she was in a situation like that. Or if she actually had parents at least.
But she was not normal, so it wasn't really a good comparison.
"Where do you want to go first, once we get there?" Billie asked her girlfriend, deciding to change the subject, as she did not want to embarrass her girlfriend or anything.
"I was going to say the Eiffel Tower, but that would be cliche, and I figured you'd want to go somewhere else before that. So honestly? I've got no idea. But considering how long the flight is going to take, and when we get there, I imagine we'll be going to the hotel first and sleep and then decide what to do the next morning" Haley replied after a few moments of thought.
She had never truly thought of what she was going to do when in Paris, as she had never truly expected that she would be going there. Even after being told about it yesterday, it was hard to wrap her head around it.
Never did she think that she would obtain the wealth to be able to go to Paris casually like this. And now she did. Even if Billie had not paid for it, Haley made more than enough money to fund the entire trip herself. But Billie had done it this time, all for a birthday gift.
And the actual trip hadn't really even started yet. So she had no idea just what her girlfriend had prepared for her, and how much she truly was spending on it. She hoped it was not too much, as she would feel bad.
But knowing Billie, it probably was a shit ton. Way more than she would have personally spent on it, only because she felt bad spending so much on a simple trip, when she could instead spend it on something more important.
But Billie was richer than her grandpa, and was inevitably going to be a billionaire, so it was probably way different for her in comparison to Haley, who was never going to get to that level of wealth.
At least not for years and years and years. Decades even. At this moment in time there was not many artists out there that were billionaires, so even the current Billie was likely one of the richest artists in the entire world.
Which, considering she had only been doing it for around a few years or so, that was immensely impressive. And she was only going to grow larger and larger, until eventually she becomes the biggest artist on the planet, and not just by a little bit.
"Hmmm, that'll probably be the best idea. It's around 9 hours ahead in Paris compared to here, so going to the hotel will probably be the best idea. I don't know a ton about Paris, but I do know that it's probably not the safest place at night, especially late at night" Billie replied, agreeing with the idea.
Paris was not exactly known for being the nicest city in the world, not anymore. It was pretty well known for having some...less than stellar systems in place that made the punishment of crime pretty lax. It also had a problem with trash and cleanliness. But that was probably only in specific areas of the city.
She had gotten a suite in the nicest hotel in the city, which was one of the nicest in the entire country. So things like safety and cleanliness were naturally not going to be a problem at all. And if it was, she was going to be pissed.
"Too bad it'll cut the trip down to six days though" Haley replied with a pout.
"Hm? Oh no, we're going to be there for seven days of exploring. I already told your mom that we'll potentially stay for 8 or even 9 days. So it won't be a problem if we stay for a bit longer than a week. We just have to be back a few days before Christmas so we can prepare for it" Billie replied, getting rid of Haley's disappointment.
"Great! That means we can even go to Italy at some point too!" Haley cheered, very excited as Billie chuckled.
Soon the flight attendants came by, telling them that they were ready to leave, and warning them to get their seatbelts on for the flight. Since they'd need them on when they were taking off and landing, as usual.
And as the plane soon began to take off, Billie had only one thought on her mind.
'Let's hope this goes well'
