~LENORA'S POV
"Come."
The word stopped me mid-step.
Of course he knew I was there.
I closed my eyes briefly and forced myself to breathe. I won't allow some ridiculous dream to sow a seed of fear in me toward him.
When I opened my eyes, he remained where he was.
I walked toward him slowly, each step was carefully aware of the way my heart kept beating too fast.
I hated that he would notice. I hated that I could not control it.
"I can feel your fear," he said before I could speak.
I folded my arms tighter across my chest. "I'm not afraid."
The denial sounded weak even to my own ears.
He turned his head slightly toward me. "You're scared of me."
"I said I'm not."
Silence lingered between us for a second before he answered, "You forget that I do not need sight to hear movements." He paused. "Your pulse has been racing since you got here."
Of course he already knows.
"It was just a stupid dream," I said, staring at the blank night sky.
