~LENORA'S POV
"Lilies..."
The word slipped from my lips as I drifted out of sleep, still half tangled in whatever softness had carried me through the night.
I blinked slowly, letting the ceiling come into focus, the carved beams above me grounding me in the present.
I was in Lucian's room. No void. No black eyes. No blade in my chest.
I exhaled slowly, and the sweet scent of lilies drifted into my nose again.
My brows pulled together as I pushed myself upright against the pillows, breathing in more carefully.
The scent was unmistakable this time, rich enough to feel real instead of imagined.
Lilies.
My gaze moved around the room, before settling on the windows.
A bouquet rested near the balcony doors, white petals open and fresh, their stems gathered neatly.
