~LENORA'S POV
My son was sleeping beside me when I woke again, and for a second, I genuinely just laid there staring because I still could not fully process that he was real.
He was so small it almost didn't make sense that something that powerful had come out of me without actually killing me.
His tiny face was turned slightly toward me, one little hand tucked near his cheek beneath the blanket.
And honestly, if it were not for the violet eyes I had already seen earlier before exhaustion knocked me unconscious, I could have almost convinced myself he was normal.
Almost.
His hair was dark like mine, soft and thick enough to already be visible.
It somehow made everything worse, because it gave him this terrifyingly human softness while also reminding me that he absolutely was not just human.
He was ours.
That thought alone was enough to make my entire body feel weird all over again.
"You're staring again," Lucian said from the chair near the bed.
