Back on the day after the contract, in castle's utility room....
It was a room filled with carefully pressed gowns, shirts, and garments waiting to be delivered to their royal owners. The air smelled of starch and fabric softener, and a large standing mirror occupied one corner.
Three identical castle maids currently occupied the room. The eldest, Kara, was standing before that mirror, her face was chirping as she held an emerald green silk with delicate gold gown up to her body.
"Sister..." Kyra, the youngest barely twenty, fidgeted nervously near one corner of the mirror. "Are you sure? That's... that's Princess Lyra's dress. For her upcoming event next monday."
"I know whose dress it is," Kara said irritated, but her eyes turned dreamy again as she looked at herself in the mirror. "I will just try it. I won't go out or damage it. I just... I just want to see what it feels like to wear something this soft. Just once. We won't be getting such a chance again."
