CHAPTER 46
~Xade's POV~
By the time the last student left my office, I was already exhausted.
I leaned back in my chair and let out a slow breath, rubbing the bridge of my nose while the door clicked shut behind the kid.
The hallway outside buzzed faintly with the usual academy noise—students moving between classes, lockers slamming, voices overlapping in bursts of laughter or frustration.
My office, however, was finally quiet. For the first time all day.
Stacks of student reports and behaviour files were scattered across my desk, each one another reminder that about half the teenagers in this academy came from families that had no business raising children in the first place.
I picked up one file again and skimmed through it.
Another disciplinary issue. Another kid with parents too busy fighting over territory, money, or power to actually raise their own child.
I exhaled slowly and dropped the file back onto the desk.
