~Jade's POV~
Two days passed, and the silence from my mates became worse and suffocating.
It was not loud or dramatic, which somehow made it worse, because they spoke only when necessary—during trainings—and nothing more.
There were no more special training sessions, no messages, and no quiet moments where one of them would pull me aside like before.
Even the bond felt different, like a bruise pressed too often, dull yet still aching in ways I couldn't ignore no matter how hard I tried.
So I buried myself in work, throwing my focus into mock trials, assignments, extra credits, and self taught strategy tutorials, anything that would keep my mind from drifting back to them.
Unfortunately, that also meant dealing with Drake constantly.
"You're reading that like it personally offended you," Drake's voice came from beside me.
I didn't even look up from the file in my hand. "It did."
