When Laskey tremblingly spoke that name, the CP agents in black suits around him all had their pupils shrink at once. Their bodies started shaking, they gulped nervously, and even the guns in their hands nearly slipped from their grasp from fear.
The people of Baterilla Island looked up at the boy riding a fire dragon through the sky, and for a moment, it felt as if they were witnessing a god. Some even had the urge to drop to their knees and pray.
Aming was just as shaken by the miraculous sight before her. The red-haired boy rode a fire dragon like something straight out of fantasy, and she simply could not look away.
It was only when Fes spoke beside her that she snapped back to her senses.
"Looks like we won't need to step in after all."
"Huh?!"
Coming back to herself, Aming noticed the fear on the faces of the World Government agents in front of her.
She already knew that person was powerful, and a pirate on top of that, but she had not expected him to frighten a group of usually overbearing people this badly.
"Is he really that strong?!"
As if he had heard her, Laskey suddenly shouted in a near-hysterical voice.
"Why. Why is a monster like this in the South Blue? Wasn't he supposed to be in the New World?"
"S-Sir, what do we do now? There's no way we can beat a monster like this!"
One of his subordinates whispered from beside him.
Laskey exploded immediately.
"You idiot! If you're asking me, then who am I supposed to ask?!"
Just then, Laskey noticed the two in front of him. Thinking of something, he roared angrily,
"Damn it. Did you two bring this monster here?"
Fes and Aming were both stunned by the accusation. Fes shook his head.
"We don't know him."
Aming asked with curiosity and a hint of teasing,
"Who exactly is this guy, for you all to be this scared of him?"
Seeing that neither of them seemed to be faking it, Laskey became even more confused.
He ignored their question completely. Instead, his eyes widened as another thought struck him.
"Could it be the Sky Pirates are connected to Roger? Is he here because of Roger's child?"
That had to be it.
Otherwise, there was no way to explain why Yemu, a monster from the New World, would appear in the South Blue.
But that was not the real issue.
The real issue was what they were supposed to do now.
Run?
Laskey looked at the enormous dragon head staring down at him and had no confidence at all.
Ever since the Sky Pirates appeared on the seas, far too many CP agents had fallen to them. Even people from CP0 were among the dead.
But if they did not run, were they just supposed to stay here and die?
The atmosphere fell silent. No one dared make a sound.
Then Yemu, who was sitting cross-legged on the dragon's head, finally moved.
He yawned, looking completely uninterested, then looked down at the CP agents led by Laskey and asked,
"Have you finished thinking about your last words? If you have, I'll send you on your way."
"Wait!!! Wait. Wait."
For the first time, Laskey did not hesitate at all as he shouted,
"Captain Yemu, there's no deep grudge between us, is there? I'll take my men and leave this island right now. We'll never come back again."
The fear Laskey showed at that moment left the people of Baterilla Island stunned.
High in the sky, Yemu looked down at the group of CP agents below and said, as if he found the argument fairly reasonable,
"When you put it like that, I guess that does make some sense."
