"Long time no see, Big Bro Naruto!"
Using her Byakugan to confirm Naruto was home, Hanabi cheerily unlocked his front door with her own copy of the key and strolled in as if she owned the place. Per shinobi protocol, she didn't ask about the classified details of his recent disappearance, but her curiosity was visible in her wandering eyes.
"Been a while, Little Hanabi," Naruto's startled voice drifted from the kitchen. "Hold on—more than that, how exactly did you get a key?"
Apron-clad, Naruto poked his head out, ladle in hand. Hanabi plopped onto the sofa, swinging her feet smugly. "When I tidied your living room last time, I 'borrowed' your key and had three copies made! While you were away on that half-month mission, I dropped by to air the place out for you!"
"Three copies?" Naruto muttered, ducking back to his pots. "Why three? You afraid of losing them or something?"
"I heard Big Bro Naruto raked in a fortune from that S-rank mission," Hanabi bounced to the kitchen doorway. "How about upgrading to a bigger house? If you're short on cash, I can chip in from my allowance!"
Naruto froze. With the Konoha Crush Plan and Orochimaru's invasion only two months away, buying property now would be like building a sandcastle during high tide. "No need; I'm comfy here. I'll swap the furniture later."
Hanabi pouted, then produced two movie tickets. "Then do you have time this afternoon for Princess Fuun: Final Battle? They say the heroine is a real princess from the Land of Snow!"
Naruto's hand stilled. That old director sure works fast! he thought, remembering the cameras rolling amidst the geothermal heat. "Sure," he smiled, "but only after we eat."
Matchmaker Hanabi
Back at the Hyuga Compound, Hinata was blotting sweat from her brow after a grueling training session with her father.
"Sister!" Hanabi's voice rang out as she bounded into Hinata's arms, waving two cinema tickets. "Five o'clock—come with me! Big Bro Naruto is going too!"
Hinata gave a soft "Mm" as she stabilized her sister. Then, the realization hit her. "Hanabi… did you say Naruto-kun is going too?"
"Of course!" Hanabi grinned like a fox. She leaned closer, her voice a teasing whisper. "So, Sis—seize the chance! You two have been so busy you haven't met in ages, right?"
Hinata's face flooded with a scarlet blush that reached her ear-tips. Her heart pounded against her ribs. Hanabi beamed; she had deliberately chosen a day when Ino Yamanaka was away on a mission to set this trap.
The Prodigy's Curiosity
Next door, in the interconnected courtyard of the Branch House, Neji Hyuga stepped inside clutching a ticket given to him by Might Guy.
Guy had mentioned that Kakashi's squad appeared in this film, specifically a taijutsu prodigy named Uzumaki Naruto. Neji remembered asking Guy once who was stronger—himself or Naruto.
Guy's usual grin had vanished. "Neji, your Gentle Fist is flawless," Guy had said, gripping his shoulder. "But Naruto... he is taijutsu incarnate. Every time he falls, he rises stronger. Even a genius like you has a sizeable gap to close."
Neji looked at the ticket. He wanted to see for himself what kind of "genius" could earn such high praise from the man who called himself the Leaf's Noble Blue Beast.
