Akainu said, "To let Dark King Rayleigh leave, how truly great."
A hint of mockery played on his lips.
"Now you know not to implicate others, but why did you commit crimes in the first place? If you had known this would be your end today, do you regret it?"
Kevin laughed, "Regret? With just you all?"
Akainu was unfazed.
Just bravado before death.
"Oh, how terrifying. Is he going to fight the three of us alone?" Borsalino looked at Kevin, very surprised.
This was the first time he had seen him today.
He had heard of him many times.
He had made Mr. Sengoku's hair turn white with anger.
Seeing him today, Borsalino genuinely sighed, "Truly terrifying."
It didn't sound like a jest.
Kuzan, similarly, wasn't as flamboyant as Borsalino. With lazy, sleepy eyes, he curiously observed Kevin.
He wasn't disappointed.
He was indeed the young man capable of so many great feats.
It was just a pity.
"Kuzan, Borsalino, you two just watch from the side. Leave him to me alone. Only if he tries to run, then you can act."
Akainu stretched his body.
His fists glowed, highly condensed magma seemingly rolling within him.
The air around Akainu twisted, as if invisible flames enveloped him.
Akainu was the only one present who had fought Kevin before.
Akainu's assessment in his heart:
His strength was decent, and his ability was quite strange.
But he was definitely not his opponent.
Even if he had grown a lot this year, Akainu absolutely did not believe that Kevin could reach his level of combat power.
"Understood."
Borsalino was just looking for an excuse to slack off.
Akainu's request was exactly what he liked. He confirmed thrice, "Are you sure we only act if Kevin tries to escape? In other situations, we don't act, right?"
"Right!"
Borsalino understood.
And he remembered it.
Kuzan nodded slightly, agreeing to Akainu's suggestion.
"One-on-one, not bad."
Kevin looked at Akainu with interest.
One against three.
There would definitely be no chance of victory, and it would even be difficult to inflict serious injuries on them.
One-on-one.
That would be much easier.
....
....
Magma rolled under Akainu's feet, and he clenched his fists.
With every step.
Magma surged out from under his feet like waves.
His speed became faster and faster. The small Island 13's sky was dyed red, and scorching magma devoured everything.
"This is your grave."
Akainu's massive magma fist slammed towards Kevin.
"The scenery is nice. I'll also find a nice grave for you."
Kevin held his sword and slashed down.
A giant sword energy shockwave and magma collided wildly, causing the island to shake violently. The ground beneath their feet continuously cracked, spreading to the ice, which then shattered.
"He actually blocked it?"
The relaxed Borsalino and Kuzan's pupils widened.
They looked at the battlefield in astonishment.
It was an even match. Kevin had easily blocked Akainu's attack.
"Kevin's strength is far more terrifying than the intelligence reports indicated. He's too terrifying, and his growth rate is too fast." Borsalino couldn't help but sigh, fortunate that he could be ended today.
Otherwise, if he were allowed to continue growing like this.
In a few years.
Wouldn't he be able to compete with Whitebeard for the title of Strongest Man?
"Rumble!"
The two men were locked in a power struggle.
The space where the two collided constantly pushed and pulled.
Neither could gain an overwhelming advantage.
"You've grown this strong?"
Akainu stared at Kevin in disbelief.
Just a year ago, I could easily overwhelm you.
"People grow, don't they?" Kevin was calm and composed, even having the leisure to chat with Akainu.
Anyway, today's outcome was destined.
He might as well enjoy it.
Akainu's mouth twitched.
Growth?
He had never heard of anyone growing this quickly.
"Fortunately, you walked right into our trap, otherwise I can't imagine how much harm you would cause to the future of the sea if you escaped to the New World."
Akainu was incredibly relieved.
Kevin retorted, "Walked right into your trap? Not necessarily. Before I planned to go to the New World, I was going to visit Marine Headquarters for fun. I didn't expect you to be so understanding, saving me the trouble of going to Marine Headquarters. You waited for me here. Thanks."
Akainu's face instantly turned ashen.
I considered you an opponent, but you treated me like an idiot.
You think I'd believe that.
"Laugh now, because you won't have the chance later."
Seeing that his single fist couldn't take down Kevin, Akainu clenched his other hand into a fist and struck with both.
Kevin gripped his sword with both hands.
The power of their clash formed a surge of energy that cut across the sky.
It split the sea.
The surging energy rushed into the sky, forming a visible shockwave that swept across the heavens, dispersing white clouds, and creating a massive crimson energy tornado.
"Rumble."
A deafening collision.
...
"This is too exaggerated."
Doflamingo, who had just arrived.
His eyes were wide.
The affected area had already reached the entire Sabaody Archipelago. Monsters, they were all monsters....
Doflamingo stood in the distance, looking at the two men fiercely clashing on the battlefield.
He knew both of them.
"It's them again."
Doflamingo had witnessed Kevin and Akainu's battle once before.
But the commotion was far less than today's.
"So it's Kevin. All the Admirals are here for him. What a terrifying guy. The Marines really think highly of him."
But seeing the power of Kevin's every move on the battlefield.
Doflamingo had to admit.
He deserved it!
"Such a growth rate, even the Sea Emperors can't compare."
The proud Doflamingo was also convinced.
"Too bad, he's doomed."
Doflamingo glanced at Kizaru and Aokiji, who hadn't made a move.
He shook his head.
No matter who came, they would die today.
"Kevin is sure to die, what about the other members of the Sun and Moon Pirates?" Doflamingo quickly looked around.
Gion's Mythical Zoan-Phoenix Form was what Kaido wanted.
He wanted the Ope-Ope no Mi, which was also with the Sun and Moon Pirates.
"An excellent opportunity. The Ope-Ope no Mi might not have been eaten yet, and even if it has, I can still kidnap the person. Kevin is doomed, so I only need to worry about Gion."
Doflamingo immediately noticed the river on the ice.
Using his ability.
He quickly followed the river at a low altitude.
He kept looking back at the battlefield, which had already started affecting the weather.
Battles of such intensity were rare.
He couldn't help but take a few more glances.
"When Kevin dies, I, Doflamingo, will inherit the wealth of the Sun and Moon Pirates."
Doflamingo's mouth curved into a triumphant and greedy smile.
....
....
"Hellhound!"
A lava claw that incinerated everything.
"Golden Crow Patrols the Sky!"
Golden arcs of electricity pulsed along Kevin's blade.
"Boom!"
The Hellhound's ultimate move struck Kevin's chest.
Admiral Akainu was stunned.
He actually didn't defend? Didn't block?
Then, he watched with wide eyes as the blade, imbued with golden lightning, struck him.
An exchange of injuries.
"Boom!" Kevin was sent flying backward, lava still flowing from his chest. Even Haki couldn't completely block the full force of Admiral Akainu's ultimate move, leaving his chest charred black.
Admiral Akainu's chest was gashed open.
A bleeding wound, splattering blood, ran from his shoulder to his abdomen, and he too was sent flying backward.
Both of them, from the center of the battlefield,
were flung to opposite edges of the island.
