[ELARA'S POV]
Six weeks postpartum and Dr. Chen cleared me for sex.
"Everything looks great." She snapped off her gloves. "You've healed beautifully. No restrictions."
Damian, who'd insisted on coming to the appointment, visibly relaxed. "No restrictions. You're sure."
"Completely sure." Dr. Chen smiled. Knowing. "Just take it slow. Listen to your body. And use protection unless you want another baby right away."
I laughed. Actually laughed. "We're good with two for now."
"Smart." She washed her hands. "Most couples wait at least eighteen months between pregnancies. Gives your body time to recover fully."
We left the office. Got in the car. Damian didn't start driving.
Just sat there. Hands on the steering wheel. Staring straight ahead.
"You okay?" I touched his arm.
"We can have sex." He said it flat. Processing.
"Yeah. That's what she said."
"Tonight. We can have sex tonight."
