Chapter 125 - Chapter 124: hex core, Dimensional Wormhole (Part 2)

Looking at the Transformation Watch in his hand, which hadn't changed in appearance and whose functions were still completely intact, Luca accepted the 'minor matter' of this Transformation Watch once again becoming a core component.

Well, the main reason was that even if he wanted to synthesize it quickly now, there was nothing he could do.

"If only I had scanned Thor too. I wonder if a Frost Giant's body counts as alien data?"

Because he had retrieved the Tesseract and needed to return to Asgard as soon as possible to repair the Bifrost Bridge and quell the rebellion, Thor had already left Earth.

Although nine different types of alien data didn't seem like much, it would probably take some time to synthesize all of them.

"I wonder if catching a Skrull and letting them repeatedly transform for scanning would directly gather the remaining nine types of data?

However, according to the introduction, this watch can not only perform basic transformations but also record new alien genes. So, if I synthesize it, what if I then record Thanos? Or… the invincible Galactus?"

As he walked down to the Underground Room, thinking about these seemingly wonderful future possibilities, Luca carefully put the 'future-promising' Transformation Watch back on his wrist.

There was no other way; no matter how promising the future was, its current functions still needed to be used.

However, missing the 'scan data' incident made Luca suddenly realize he had made an even bigger mistake.

Besides the inexplicably extra watch, I didn't get a single new core component from this big event!

Not only did he not get any, but besides that super-huge Dark Elf spaceship, Luca didn't even see any new 'white light items'.

He hadn't thought much about it when the situation was critical, but now Luca realized where the problem lay.

"I was actually behind the monitor the whole time…"

Yes.

Long ago, Luca had tested similar indirect methods like video recordings, monitoring, and remote video, and found that they couldn't make him perceive the white light emitted by 'core components'. To view the golden finger panel, he had to physically touch the target.

But in this incident, Luca first relied on remote control of the Erha Armor to fight the Frost Giant.

Later, when fighting the Dark Elves, he was also in the cockpit of the [Boxer] Mech, observing the outside through the mech's various scanning sensors.

This meant that even if a 'core component' that met the golden finger's criteria appeared, Luca still couldn't see the white light after it was projected through these devices.

"I feel like I missed out on a billion…"

At this point, Luca could only comfort himself.

Those Frost Giants and Dark Elves were just small fry, not important plot characters.

Besides that massive warship he couldn't get his hands on, there definitely weren't any other core components!

Fortunately, Luca wasn't entirely without Gains this time.

Inside the Underground Room.

Luca first placed the web-shooter, which could synthesize the Anesthetic Watch, on the table.

This 'core component' that Luca had previously lent to Gwen had now been retrieved by him.

For Gwen, this might just be a small item that could be easily made.

But for Luca, it was one of the important tools for later activating 'Conan 5/5', so he naturally wouldn't discard it so easily.

Of course, the so-called gain was not this 'item that originally belonged to him'.

Reaching out to take the backpack from the Erha Armor, Luca again pulled out two items from it:

A miniature arc reactor, and… four seemingly ordinary stone fragments.

The former was a good item Luca had shamelessly 'snatched' from Tony.

The latter were four rune stones obtained from Thor.

Although Thor had promised to give Luca a gift after 'lifting' Mjolnir, Luca ultimately only asked for four rune stones.

As for the reason, it was naturally for that 'core component' that had been gathering dust for a long time.

Placing the only hex crystal that emitted white light on the table.

Luca first nervously rubbed his hands, then performed the familiar circular motion, clapping, and synthesis.

In one smooth motion.

The next moment, white light enveloped the synthesis array, and then, a polyhedron wrapped in several metallic rune shells quietly floated on the tabletop.

The entire polyhedron continuously emitted a dazzling blue light, looking full of the mesmerizing mystery unique to magic technology.

Hex Core (Chapter 5)

Of course, Luca chose to synthesize it at this time not because he wanted to use the item himself.

After all, although the description mentioned 'infinite energy', subsequent descriptions spoke of 'rune energy erosion' and 'World destruction'.

Given Luca's small stature, he wasn't ready to explore such dangerous things for now.

So, as soon as the Hex Core was synthesized, Luca immediately looked up at the ceiling and shouted,

"Sorcerer Ancient One!! Sorcerer Supreme!! The promised trade is here!!"

However, after Luca called out a few times, he looked around and found no change around him.

Neither did time suddenly pause, nor did a sizzling golden halo appear, which left him a bit puzzled.

"Could it be that Ancient One can't hear me in the Underground Room? They can't possibly expect me to go to them for the trade, can they? I don't even know where the New York Sanctum is!"

Thinking this, Luca could only try again tentatively.

"Old Ancient One? Come out and do business!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Luca immediately felt a flick on the back of his head.

Clutching his head and groaning, he looked back and, sure enough, the figure of the golden-haired Ancient One had appeared behind him at some point.

"You old…"

Seeing Ancient One's mischievous smile, Luca decisively changed his words.

"Sorcerer Ancient One is indeed always watching me, aren't you?"

Hearing Luca's words, Ancient One rolled her eyes ungracefully, and with a slight movement of her finger, a chair from the corner of the Underground Room immediately flew over, stopping perfectly behind her.

Then, Ancient One sat on the chair with her legs crossed and said with a hint of disdain,

"Who has time to always watch you? With that tangled mess of a timeline you have, I'd like to live a few more years!"

Seeing Ancient One say this, Luca, however, gave a disbelieving glance at the Hex Core beside him.

The meaning was self-evident.

You weren't watching me, yet you came over as soon as this thing was synthesized?

However, upon seeing Luca's action, her eyes rolled even more dramatically.

"When you create such a huge dimensional wormhole on Earth, it's hard for me to pretend not to see it!"
