(Pov 3rd)
After the battle near Yasohachi Bridge, the students of Tokyo Jujutsu High assumed things would calm down somewhat. Yuji and the others managed to convince the two brothers, Eso and Kechizu, to return on their own and tell their eldest brother, Choso, about the change in their family.
Gojo Satoshi, on the other hand, was on edge. He had seemingly managed to get Eso and Kechizu on his side, and with them, Choso would follow, but he felt he was missing something. It was not long before he knew that the barriers would appear in Shibuya and things would come to a major divergence.
It was here that Kenjaku planned to seal away Gojo Satoru and incapacitate Gojo Satoshi to prevent their interference with his planned event, the Culling Games. This was part of his ultimate plan to merge Tengen with all the people of Japan so that he could observe what would come of creation.
Despite knowing this original plan, Gojo Satoshi had changed enough in the story that he was no longer certain about future events. Yet major events still seemed to be happening despite his changes. This was somewhat expected, as Kenjaku had contingencies in place for things not working out for him.
What truly surprised him, though, was the news of a potential spy in Kyoto Jujutsu High. Utahime had requested the assistance of Satoshi's students, and they discovered that Muta Kokichi was not where he had stated he was and was likely the spy.
This had happened originally but it shouldn't have this time because Satoshi had exorcised Mahito meaning they could never convince Kokichi with a binding vow to heal his body. Yet unknown to Satoshi and the rest of Jujutsu society, Mahito had been saved at the last moment by Kenjaku using an illusion-based cursed technique.
With Kokichi's location and secret base never stated in the story, Satoshi was unable to find him and learn the truth about Mahito's survival, and instead focused on preparing further for the upcoming battle during the Shibuya Incident.
In the original story, Kenjaku, piloting the body of Geto Suguru, along with Mahito and the three disaster curses, would enter Shibuya, and a massive curtain, along with other smaller barriers, would be deployed within the district, attracting the attention of Jujutsu sorcerers. Ultimately, this plan was devised for two main purposes: the first being to seal Gojo Satoru within the prison realm and prevent his interference in the Culling Games. The second was for Kenjaku to use Cursed Spirit Manipulation to control Mahito, then extract his technique and incarnate dozens of sorcerers from the past, alongside awakening the cursed techniques of many others as well.
This would set the stage for the Culling Games and would lead to many of the remaining sorcerers teaming up to fight Ryomen Sukuna, who had taken control of the body of Fushiguro Megumi, alongside taking down Kenjaku permanently. This final fight wouldn't be without casualties, as Gojo Satoru would be killed during his fight, and so would Kashimo Hajime and Choso.
Ultimately, Yuji would use his soul attacks to forcefully separate Sukuna from Megumi, saving his friend and ending Sukuna for good. With both Sukuna and Kenjaku dead, the world would enter a time of peace even without the protection of Gojo Satoru.
Now, though, things had changed too much. Gojo Satoshi and his existence had drastically altered the plan in Shibuya. From the survival of Amanai Riko to the exorcism of Jogo and Hanami, many of Kenjakus' advantages had been lost due to Gojo Satoshi, and as such, the plan now included a second part after Gojo Satoru was sealed. Kill Satoshi.
(Pov Satoshi)
I was pacing again, something I hadn't felt the need to do in years. It was October thirty-first, Halloween, and in a few hours, things would finally kick off. I knew it was coming, but there was something in the back of my head like an alarm screaming about danger. Things shouldn't be this stressful. Sure, Kenjaku was still around, but most of his allies were gone.
I had exorcised Jogo, Mahito, and Hanami, not to mention the reborn Taro. Now his only remaining disaster curse would be Dagon, and even if he evolved, I should be able to exorcise him easily, given how quickly Toji did it. So why did I feel so worried?
I had everything prepared; even if Satoru was somehow sealed, I could get him out right away with the Inverted Spear of Heaven, so the Culling Games would be cut short. I was also confident that even if Sukuna managed to gain control and was fed the stolen fingers, I could take him on at least long enough for Yuji to regain control. Currently, counting the finger he was born with, Yuji had six of Sukuna's fingers, and Kenjaku had another ten. Thankfully, though, the original birth finger wouldn't activate unless Kenjaku used Idle Transfiguration to incarnate the sorcerers.
Ultimately, the worst-case scenario would be me fighting a fifteen-finger Sukuna on my own, not great. Still, I had a lot of cursed tools at my disposal, so I had options, many of which I had been intentionally hiding from Sukuna. He likely knew already about the Soul Split Katana and would be wary of its soul-slicing abilities, given I could use it to slice Sukuna out of Yuji, and even if he wouldn't be fully dead, he'd lose over three-fourths of his power.
I had also picked up Dragon Bone after the goodwill event. Kumiya Juzo was a nutcase, but he knew how to make a strong cursed tool, and after some direct questioning, he was more than willing to tell me where his laboratory was. This cursed tool could absorb both kinetic and cursed energy, then expel them out of three jet-like nozzles in the back, propelling the blade at high speed. It didn't have the same cutting power as the SSK, but the speed made up for it.
My greatest secret, though, was the Inverted Spear of Heaven and the connected Chain of a Thousand Miles. This negated cursed techniques on contact, and after some testing with Satoru, I discovered it could be used to kind of block attacks made with a technique by cutting them apart. That was how my Inverted Domain worked: it just cut the attacks apart before they could reach me. Using this cursed tool, I could defend against dismantles and even against Malevolent Shrine; as such, I had been keeping it as secret as possible whenever Yuji was around.
Sukuna would figure out how it worked eventually, but the longer that took, the better my chances ultimately. However, the goal was to prevent Sukuna from being able to take over in the first place while also doing everything possible to take down the curtains and evacuate civilians. That way, if he did emerge, Yuji wouldn't be so depressed about all the people he'd kill during a potential fight in the district.
It was going to be a lot, but breaking it down, I had a few main goals. First, evacuate as many people as possible. Second, find and defeat Toji before he nearly kills Megumi. This should keep him from needing to summon Mahoraga if Haruta tries to sneak-attack him. The third prevents Sukuna from emerging and destroying the city. Fifth, find Kenjaku and kill him, preferably before he seals Satoru; if he already has, I can just unseal him.
I was suddenly broken out of my thoughts when I heard footsteps approaching my room, and without any knock, the door slid open, revealing Satoru. His expression was more serious than usual, which could only mean one thing.
"Yo, Satoshi, there's an issue going on over in Shibuya; they want us to investigate." He said bluntly.
"Do they know what the issue is?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.
"No, a massive curtain just showed up in the middle of the district. I think it's Kenjaku, though." He responded, shocking me. I hadn't expected him to have realized this already, but it made sense that we had been hunting him for nearly a year now. So, with such a major action taking place right next to our school, connecting the dots wasn't difficult.
"In that case, then he's probably got a plan for both of us, so stay on guard no matter what," I said, following him out into the hall.
"Hey, come on, I'm the older brother here, I'm supposed to say stuff like that," Satoru complained, though he seemed to take it seriously.
As we both got outside, I could already see it, a massive black dome covering part of Tokyo. The main curtain had been set up, and now it was time to see just how much I had managed to change.
