Delfina stepped downstairs, only to find Gabriele having breakfast alone while the butler chatted with the little boy, keeping him company as much as he could while trying to keep up with his crazy stories.
After placing a kiss on Gabriele's head, Delfina faced the butler.
"Where's mother?" She was referring to Ms. Sartori.
"She left earlier. She said she had somewhere to be," the butler responded. "As for Dominic, he didn't come home last night."
A slight frown settled on her face.
Dominic had never spent the day outside before. They'd been married for months now—contractually— and now once was he never present for breakfast.
All of a sudden, her phone rang with a text message.
It was from Dominic, reminding her to eat and rest. They would talk when he returned home.
She wanted to text him where he was, but her thumb hovered above her screen, doing absolutely nothing.
