Back in the dorm room, Vorden, Peter, and Quinn were watching Tsukuru.
He was sitting at his desk, with a strange, metal, white box on the desk's surface.
The box was segmented into two halves, splitting the box into two segments.
The top segment was flipped back, leaving only the bottom half of the box visible.
At the top of the lower segment, starting near the middle of the top, was a red "T" going down the front.
Inside the box, it had two rows of circular holes, perfectly spaced across the interior, going into two neat rows of five.
Sitting inside each hole of the first row, as well as the first hole of the second row, was a Minor Health Potion.
The holes were sized so the slender bottles of the potions could slot within them perfectly.
In front of the box on Tsukuru's desk were a set of four more potions.
There was a large amount of space behind them and to the left of the first potion, showing that the potions now in the box had originally been on the desk with the others.
As Tsukuru placed the next potion in the box, and reached for the next one on his table, he glanced down at his wristwatch.
His credit balance now read "10,290".
Tsukuru glanced back at Quinn, a look of great annoyance on his face.
"It's a good thing you told Hayley I could only make 'low-grade' Health Potions." He grumbled. "If I had to do this with the expensive shit, I'd go broke."
It was an exaggeration, but it got his point across.
While Tsukuru's "Minor Health Potions" only cost 30 credits, regular"Health Potions" cost 80.
The only difference between the two was that while the "minor" potion only healed 10 HP, and "regular" potion healed 40.
Creating a set of ten "Minor Health Potions" only cost him around 300 credits, while creating ten regular potions would have cost him 800.
Hearing this, Quinn laughed nervously, and scratched the back of his head.
"Sorry, I just kinda…panicked." Tsukuru muttered something under his breath, and went back to work.
Peter, meanwhile, looked between Tsukuru and Quinn, a look of deep confusion on his face.
Their conversation made no sense to him.
''Go broke'?' Peter thought. 'Doesn't Tsukuru make those things with his Ability? It shouldn't cost him anything!'
At the end of it, the box was filled with ten "Minor Health Potions".
Tsukuru closed the lid, a clicking noise was heard, seeming to be a simplistic internal locking mechanism.
Despite Tsukuru not being able to create super-complex creations with multiple moving parts, simplistic locks could apparently still be made.
As Tsukuru closed the lid, the group noticed that the top half had another red "T", only this one, upside down.
When the two halves met, the two "T"s combined to form a red "plus" symbol in the center of the now-complete white square, with an oval section in the center bulging out slightly like a button.
The top of the square also had a white handle attached to the top so it could be carried.
Tsukuru let out a sigh.
After a few minutes had passed, the four friends began talking.
"Thanks for getting the Sergeants when you did." Vorden replied, turning to Peter, a smile on his face. "The three of us would have been goners by now if you didn't."
Hearing this, Peter's head slumped.
"Yeah, sure." He replied in a gloomy voice. "No problem."
Seeing this, Tsukuru narrowed his eyes, full of suspicion.
Meanwhile, Peter was thinking.
He still felt bad about the whole situation.
Although he had done the right thing by getting Sergeant Faye, he had been the one who had tricked Vorden into coming to the assembly hall in the first place.
Quinn turned to Vorden sitting next to him.
"What do you think will happen to Mono and the second-years?" He asked.
Vorden glanced over at him.
"Not sure." Vorden replied. "If this had been a one-on-one incident, I'm sure it would have been ignored. But this time, several students were involved."
Vorden paused for a minute, appearing to be deep in thought, before continuing.
"I'm sure they'll try to find a scapegoat to pin the blame on."
Meanwhile, inside one of the interrogation rooms, Mono Black sat across from the second-year General, Duke King.
Mono leaned back into his seat, and let out a long sigh.
"If it wasn't bad enough that Sergeant Faye had shown up, she brought that…psychopath with her!" Mono muttered.
He then looked at Duke, a look of pure fear on his face.
"That look she gave me…it was like she was already planning how to have me…disappeared." Mono gulped. "I did as you asked, and now I'll be lucky if I live to see tomorrow."
Duke looked down at him, eyes narrowing.
"Relax, nothing will come of this." Duke replied, causing Mono's head to lift up and for Mono to look at him. "I can promise you that."
Mono gulped.
"Really?" He asked, hope in his voice
Duke nodded.
"You're only students, and these kinds of things happen." Duke replied, repeating almost word-for-word what that General had said to Quinn when he had been interrogated after Brandon's death. "I'll vouch for you."
Mono looked up at him.
"So none of this will fall back on me, then?"
Duke smiled.
"Of course." He replied. "As long as no one finds out about…our little secret."
Hearing this, Mono nodded, steeling his resolve.
"Right." He replied, before standing up. "Thank you, sir."
As Mono walked away, Duke stared at his back.
He narrowed his eyes.
'Hikiko Tsukuru…' Duke thought to himself. 'I might just have to interview you…myself.'
Back in the doctor's office, Hayley sat in her chair, her legs crossed.
She held the strange potion she had taken from Hikiko Tsukuru in her hand, her fingertips pinching its bottleneck.
She held it to her face, and shook it back and forth, watching the red liquid inside the ornate clear glass swish back and forth.
'A healing potion, huh?' She thought.
The idea wasn't out of the realm of possibility.
The military themselves used such a solution to fill the syringes contained inside their "medibots".
Hayley was broken from her musings as she heard the door to the room click open.
Her head snapped over towards the doorframe.
She saw a small boy with light-blue hair begin to walk in.
He had his left hand up to his face, rubbing a black eye, showing that he had clearly been crying.
The boy's face was covered in bruises, and he even had a busted lip.
Seeing the boy, Hayley let out a long sigh.
"Go sit down on a bed." She said, with a wave of her hand. "I'll be right there."
The bow sniffled, and did as he was told, sitting down on the empty bed closest to the door.
Hayley walked over to him.
She began activating her body's Mutant Cells.
A glowing, green energy enveloped her left hand, as she reached towards the boy's face.
However, then a thought came to her.
Hayley's hand stopped, and the glowing energy faded.
She glanced over at the slender bottle in her hand.
"Here." She said, holding out the bottle to the boy. "Drink this."
The boy did as he was instructed, taking the bottle.
He pulled the top off, and drank the red liquid.
As soon as the bottle was empty, it broke apart into translucent, light-blue pixels.
It was then that the boy felt a warm sensation fill his body.
Hayley's eyes widened in surprise, as a green light covered the boy.
She watched as the boy healed before her very eyes, the bruises on his face disappearing, and his black eye returning to normal. Even his busted lip healed itself.
Surprised, the boy looked down at his hands.
"I…I feel amazing!" He replied.
He looked up at Hayley, a look of deep gratitude on his face. "Thank you, miss!" He replied.
He got off of the bed, and ran out of the room, excitement on his face.
Hayley, however, remained frozen as a statue.
A few minutes later, she snapped back to her senses.
Instantly, her hand shot up to her chest, and she scrolled through her contact lists.
