After arranging the things for the battle, Andrew boarded LaGOWE and left the Lesseps after confirming that the Henry Carter is in place for surrounding the Archangel. The battle started with multiple single-pilot helicopters attacking the Archangel.
Alex watched as the Archangel, led by Desert Dawn, came in to attack the Lesseps when it was attacked by the Helicopters after they cleared the mine field trap in the battle zone. The Archangel used its missiles, CIWS, and beam cannons to intercept the enemies engaging it. Mu La Flaga had the skygrasper, each equipped with Strike's backpacks to switch and use them as he took skygrasper1 with the Launcher pack. As for the Aegis, he decided not to use it as he is worried about not being able to fight properly in the desert as his first battle.
On the Lesseps, BaCUEs are being deployed one after another to attack the Archangel, and LaGOWE is launched right after the BaCUEs. Kira launched from the Archangel with an Aile Striker pack equipped, as he thinks he needs the Aile's speed to keep up with the BaCUEs.
Once Kira launches from the Archangel, he is engaged in an intense fight under the barrage of the BaCUEs, but still he defends and fights them one by one, shooting down the missiles they launch and evading their cannon fire. He quickly switches his weapon from the beam gun to the beam saber to take out the head of a BaCUE and then switches back to shoot it down and immediately defends with the shield when the rest attack him. While fighting, he throws an activated beam saber to destroy a BaCUE that went through from the front monitor, and effectively destroys it, then shoots down another through the head with the beam rifle.
On the other side, the Henry Carter, which took a roundabout route to ambush the Archangel, is about to get into position.
In the Archangel, the continued use of the weapons has caused the pressure and heat of the weapons to increase, causing the Natarle to request the use of positron cannons, which is immediately denied by Murrue, as that could cause a serious impact on the environment.
Elsewhere, far from the battlefield, Alex is watching the Archangel fight the ZAFT with his friends Eric and Steve, as Arthur is currently overseeing the creation of the Archangel class battleship parts.
Eric jokingly asks, " What? Alex worried about the vice captain of the Archangel? I noticed you seem to like her, didn't know you are into Older women, Alex?"
Alex didn't deny it, nor did he say anything about liking her, but told Eric to see how Kira fights to absorb the combat tactics and situational awareness Kira demonstrates.
Just as they were talking here, Kira almost finished the BaCUEs and was about to return to the Archangel to support when Andrew attacked him and kept him busy just at the time Henry Carter attacked the Archangel from behind, causing it to tilt, which in turn caused the Archangel to get stuck in the sand because of the abandoned Factory structures.
On the sand, Cagalli watches as another vehicle of the Desert Dawn gets taken out by the cannons of the support cruiser with Lesseps, and gets angry. When she noticed the Archangel was attacked and stuck, Kisaka says it is a sitting duck in this situation. She gets worried about it and boards it to take the Skygrasper 2 to attack the Henry Carter, which is also being attacked by Mu after it attacked the Archangel.
After some effort by the two, they destroy Henry Carter's cannons while also destroying the weapons of the other support cruiser with the Lesseps, but one of the missiles fired by Henry Carter in the last moment manages to cause minor damage to the skygrasper2, forcing it to land in the desert.
On the Lesseps Yzak who couldn't handle stay on the ship all the time jumps of intending to attack the Archangel and Strike but his MS which is not tuned for the desert starts to sink into the sand and Dearka who keeps firing the weapons feels the problem of beam attenuation and decides to use the anti armor shotgun by combining the gun launcher with the high energy rifle which is formed with the gun launcher in front and fires the weapon at the Archangel which because of the shock waves of battle during firing causing the Buster to slip and misses the target which in turn destroyed the structure holding the Archangel to the desert and freeing it. After freeing itself, the Archangel adjusts its angel and fires the Dual high energy beam cannons at the Lesseps, damaging it heavily.
Andrew, noticing the situation, gave orders to his aide, Martin DaCosta, to leave the battlefield and retreat to Banadiya to reduce the losses and contact Gibraltar base for further instructions, and asked Aisha to leave as well, to which Aisha refused, saying she'd rather die and fought with him against the Strike.
The battle against Strike was very heavy, causing great damage to both sides, but finally, the Strike managed to finish off the LaGOWE by piercing the back with the Armor Schneider Combat Knife while the Strike was pushed far away by the forward charging force that hit it when the Strike attacked the LaGOWE. After which, the LaGOWE exploded, making everyone think Andrew and Aisha died.
Soon after the battle, the Archangel collected the damaged Aile Striker pack and the Skygrasper2 and left the battlefield fast so that they wouldn't give any chance to the ZAFT forces if any were present nearby.
After some time, the Archangel left. Alex was still waiting nearby, even with the technicians requesting to go and retrieve the black box from the LaGOWE. Alex was waiting for the Junk Guild Lowe Guele. only after noticing that Lowe was near did Alex go to the LaGOWE to retrieve the Black box and found Andrew and Aisha knocked out because of the shock wave damage the alloys added in the interior of the cockpit were effective in saving their lives though because they didn't any metals against the monitors displaying the visual and other sensor feed back Andrew and Aisha were injured by scattered debris but not to point of death.
Alex noticed Andrew had still lost his left arm, while Aisha was riddled with small shards all over her body. Alex woke Andrew and Aisha after discussing the situation. Andrew decided to tell Aisha died here to show loyalty to Patrick and would say he would fight to avenge his lover, so that Patrick wouldn't doubt Andrew as a member of the Klein faction. Alex promised Aisha that with the Ashford group's medical expertise, all her wounds would be removed without a single scar.
As for Andrew's return to Plants, Alex asked Lowe to arrange it, as he was going to the LaGOWE remains, which were originally Andrew's.
As for Aisha, Alex arranged for her to be taken to the Ashford estate in Orb through a private flight of the company, while another one took the black box containing alloy data and the alloys that survived the explosion, along with the technicians, to the Ashford headquarters in the Eurasian Federation.
After arranging all these things, Alex went over to the Desert Dawn hideout and watched the situation from afar over the night, how they celebrated victory and how they sent off their fallen members solemnly.
After the night of celebrations and farewell the Archangel resupplied itself and finally decided to leave the desert Cagalli forces herself onto the Archangel though not as an earth forces member saying she could solve many problems and help with supplies and still she was only taken because Mu was perceptive enough to realize she has special background and tried to ask Kisaka her situation but got nothing out of it but still talked to Murrue Ramius to take in Cagalli and her bodyguard Kisaka. So soon, the Archangel left the desert with Cagalli, and Alex also left for Banadiya to go to Gibraltar base and leave for the plants from there, as today is already the 1st of March. He decided to get his misunderstandings cleared sooner, as they are still working with Patrick Zala to complete their space colony.
After a few hours of journey in the desert, Alex finally reached Banadiya, and with the help of DaCosta still there left Banadiya for Gibraltar in a ZAFT transport plane along with Steve, as Eric had left with Aisha for the Orb Estate. When they arrived at the Gibraltar base, Alex waited a day more to take the high-speed shuttle going to the plants from Gibraltar. The Next morning, they took the shuttle, which was launched with the help of the Gibraltar Mass driver, and reached the plants after 2 days despite it being a high-speed shuttle. This allowed Alex to know how much faster it is to travel with high-capacity boosters when one disregards the engine life of the ship.
