"Looks like you need to be more vigilant."
Surprise!
Daryl spun around, aiming his crossbow behind him.
Daryl
But then, what greeted his eyes was Shawn embracing his Green Dragon Crescent Blade, and he couldn't help but laugh as he looked at Daryl.
"Was that you just now?"
"How did you get behind me?"
Daryl asked directly.
"Guess."
Shawn would definitely not tell him that he had retreated to the second floor, then painstakingly climbed up from outside the second-floor window.
"Alright, any big gains?"
Daryl walked over with his crossbow and shook Shawn's wrist, performing a greeting.
"Finding a reliable gate for our Camp, does that count as a big gain?"
Shawn tilted his head and looked at Daryl, who couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his words.
"A gate?"
"It's the kind that's 8 meters long and 6 meters high, made of pure metal, and gives a complete sense of security."
"Tha—"
Imagining the gate Shawn described, Daryl couldn't help but show a surprised expression.
Such a gate, for the Prison, was already a valuable strategic resource, no less important than firearms and ammunition.
The corner of Daryl's mouth curved upwards imperceptibly.
"Coincidentally, I also found something."
After speaking, Daryl led Shawn, winding through several turns to the end of a corridor.
"Why do these Hospitals always make their floors look like ant nests?"
Shawn couldn't help but complain.
Just now, Daryl had led Shawn through five turns to reach this spot.
The map could only record general geographical locations, it couldn't display the details of the building's interior.
"Otherwise, why do so many real-life escape rooms directly copy the Hospital's structure?"
Daryl said without looking back.
He came to a large door with an 'emergency light' on it, pushed the door open slightly, and pointed through the gap to Shawn.
"Inside, I heard movement earlier."
"Perhaps they were in surgery when everything happened, and the deceased patient bit the lead surgeon."
"Hopefully the equipment inside is still usable."
Shawn stepped forward at his words, exchanged a glance with Daryl, then suddenly kicked the large door open.
The double doors swung open with a creaking sound, leaning to both sides.
But the two waited cautiously for a long time, and the Walkers they imagined rushing out did not appear.
There wasn't even a single Walker or any chaotic debris visible along the entire fast passage behind the door.
Shawn, holding his blade, stepped forward, walking all the way to the innermost operating room.
The two exchanged glances again, Shawn gently touched the door, and the moment it opened, they both rushed in.
"Hiss—roar—"
Only at this moment did they hear the familiar sound, and they inexplicably felt at ease.
But when they clearly saw everything in the operating room, they were a little surprised.
There was indeed a Walker here, but this Walker was embedded in the operating table.
Its head was fixed by a steel plate, and past the steel plate, on the other side, its skull was half-opened.
"Performing craniotomy in a Hospital like this?"
Shawn felt a bit strange.
Experience + 75
Daryl went ahead and finished it off, then casually picked up a medical green sheet to cover its face.
"When life is critical, any ray of light can be a beacon of hope."
"It's just a pity they left it on the operating table and ran off."
"Maybe it didn't turn on the spot, but its blood slowly drained away."
Daryl stopped looking at it, just looked around.
"Looks like we're in luck."
Shawn followed his gaze and saw some medical instruments lying idle around.
These instruments were covered in a thick layer of dust. Shawn walked up and rubbed them with his hand, then gently blew, and the instruments immediately revealed their original appearance.
"At least from the outside, they still seem usable."
"We'll take all these machines back, and Hershel will figure out what they're for."
Shawn was somewhat satisfied; at least this trip to the Hospital wasn't in vain.
Shawn used the radio to notify the others to gather at the Hospital.
Then he took Daryl to search the third and second floors.
Finally, in a room in the center of the second floor, they found the Hospital's daily medicine storage area.
"These medicines that needed continuous refrigeration are no longer usable."
Daryl used the butt of his crossbow to smash the glass of the refrigerated cabinet; the injections and medicines stored inside had turned into a cloudy mess.
"But at least there's good news, isn't there?"
"Why didn't I realize before that this place is practically a treasure trove."
Shawn looked at the dazzling array of 20 neatly arranged cabinets in front of him, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up.
These were all prescription drugs and large packages of common medicines, sealed in boxes, which would be fine even after several more years.
"When they arrive, we'll pack all these medicines and take them back to the Prison."
Shawn moved between the medicine cabinets, avoiding Daryl's gaze, and put some useful medicines into his system backpack.
"Antibiotics?"
"Collect!"
"Vitamins?"
"Collect!"
"Painkillers?"
"Collect!"
Besides these, Shawn also collected some potentially useful potions, keeping them for outdoor use.
He walked to the windowsill, looking with interest at a row of seats right next to the windowsill.
In front of the seats was a row of dispensing tables, and to the right of the tables was a long, straight passage similar to a ventilation duct.
As Shawn approached the duct, a sudden sound from within made him pause.
He called Daryl over, and the two listened for a while longer.
"Ooooooohhhhhh~"
A long, echoing wail came from inside the third duct.
The two looked down from above, and what met their eyes was a pile of white packaged medicines, which were slightly wriggling, as if something underneath was constantly pushing them.
"Is that… a Walker?"
Shawn was somewhat uncertain.
The medicine delivery passage was narrow, and Shawn didn't know how the person got stuck there.
"Let's go, we need to get it out, otherwise those medicines will be wasted."
The two returned to the first-floor hall, walked past the bodies on the floor, and entered the dispensing pharmacy.
Looking up from below.
The passage narrowed all the way, and at the bottom, the exit was no bigger than a mini tablet. That Walker was stuck in the passage because of this.
Daryl stepped forward and knocked on the third passage, and a low growl immediately came from inside.
"We need to find a way to cut the passage open."
As he spoke, two figures walked in from outside the door.
Merle and Michonne had split up from Daryl, but they were nearby and had rushed over after hearing the radio.
"Looks like someone needs help."
Merle winked at Shawn and Daryl, but Daryl ignored him.
"Get out of the way, Merle, my great blade is already thirsty." Shawn said in a deep voice.
