It only took about a minute for them to travel out of the kingdom of Aethelgard, ride past the Atlant Ocean (formerly Atlantic) and arrive at the kingdom of Falcon Standing.
Then it took seconds for them to reach the bastion city known as Grim Eagle.
For the most part, the city lived to its name. It rose from the rocky highlands of Falcon Standing like a clenched fist, and had angular and militaristic towers with walls thick as stone but made with metal.
Rosenblum had been all flowing curves and garden spires, but Grim Eagle was full of hard edges and watchful eyes. Banners snapped in the cold wind showing the falcon sigil of the kingdom, and also the crests of a dozen merchant houses, each one a declaration of power and territory.
The Pegasuses touched down on a landing platform outside the main gates, their rainbow bridge dissolving behind them like morning mist.
