Victor's voice was calm.
Too calm.
"But just because our parents left this company to you doesn't mean you can do whatever you want!" she snapped. "You don't get to make decisions like this without considering—"
"You don't get to question me, little sister."
His voice didn't rise.
But it didn't need to.
It cut through hers effortlessly.
"Who exactly gave you that right?"
The silence that followed was immediate.
I could almost picture her expression without seeing it.
That sharp confidence she carried earlier…
Gone.
Replaced with something quieter.
Something careful.
She didn't respond.
Not this time.
A few seconds later, the door opened again.
I straightened slightly, stepping away just enough to avoid suspicion as Loretta walked out.
Her face was tight, her jaw clenched, but she said nothing as she passed me.
