My heart leaped out of my chest when he slowly looked up at me, instantly shutting me up.

His voice trailed behind me— calling me back, but I didn’t look back.

I slid into the car and turned the engine on, then stepped on the accelerator before zooming off.


I stopped just a few meters away, far from her sight. I placed my hand on my hammering chest, wondering why it was beating so fast.
