A hard, splitting pain at the side of Sienna's head made her stir awake. She groaned and tried to move, then immediately regretted it. The world tilted so badly she squeezed her eyes shut again.
Cold ground under her, damp air, the smell of dirt and something metallic.
For one confused second, she thought she was back in the dorm after some terrible hangover she'd never had.
Her eyes flew open. There was faint gray light coming from somewhere deeper in the space, enough to show rough stone walls and a low ceiling crossed by old pipes. She was lying on a torn blanket. Dirty, but dry.
Her breathing quickened immediately. "No."
She pushed herself upright too fast, pain exploded in her head. She cried out and clutched the side of her skull. Warm wetness on her fingers. Blood.
"Oh my God." Her voice echoed weakly through the tunnel. Sienna's chest rose sharply as panic rushed in.
