Sebastian sat with both hands folded neatly in front of him, gaze lowered to the report on his desk. Six people stood in a line before the desk.
He turned one page, then another. The sound of paper moving made one of the researchers swallow too loudly.
"Five security teams dispatched," Sebastian said quietly. "Motion sensors triggered in three sectors. Two tranquilizer units wasted." He lifted his eyes at last. "And yet... the subject remains free. Why is it so hard to find one fucking mutant?"
The operations coordinator cleared his throat. "Director, we are expanding the search perimeter. We shot at it while it ran through the forest. We believe it moved through the lower forest route and-"
Sebastian raised one finger, he stood slowly and walked around the desk. He was dressed immaculately, dark suit buttoned, collar crisp, not a single crease out of place.
