The Necrocorps were simply no match for the Ultron Robot Army.
Ultron controlled the battlefield on two fronts: one, taking over the systems of all ravager ships to clear the Necro-soldiers from the air; two, commanding the Ultron Robot Army on the ground to sweep through, harvesting the Necro-soldiers with seamless coordination.
Faced with such precise, coordinated attacks, the Necrocorps couldn't even put up a decent resistance, and their casualty numbers soared.
Conversely, the Ultron Robot Army suffered almost no damage; it was a completely one-sided crushing victory.
Seeing the heavy casualties on their side and the main reinforcements nowhere to be seen, the officers of the Necrocorps had no choice but to grit their teeth and order a retreat, not daring to drag it out any longer.
The Ultron Robot Army did not pursue, letting the battered Necrocorps flee in their ships.
But the Raiders who had been fighting the Necrocorps weren't so lucky.
They were all controlled by the Ultron Robot Army, their equipment stripped clean, and they were forced to crouch on the ground with their hands behind their heads. If any of them moved even slightly, they would be met with a metallic elbow strike from an Ultron Robot.
Yondu was tied up tightly with thick ropes, all his gear stripped away, even his red fin removed.
"You traitor!"
Yondu glared at Quill, his face flushed with anger, and cursed loudly.
Quill held the equipment he had just stripped from Yondu, looking righteous: "What traitor? I am now a member of the Loot-Looters, not one of you Raiders. Besides, I am loyal to the Loot-Looters and ashamed to be associated with you Raiders!"
Darian was very gratified: "Well said. After we finish counting the loot later, feel free to take whatever you like."
Quill's face lit up. He straightened his back instantly, puffed out his chest, and shouted: "Long live the Loot-Looters!"
The members of the Guardians of the Galaxy looked at Quill with disdain, asking him where his morals were, where his bottom line was, and where the channel to join the Loot-Looters was.
Don't misunderstand; they weren't doing it for the loot, they just simply couldn't stand the Raiders' practice of kidnapping people.
Yondu's face turned dark.
You guys are all dirtier than the next, and you have the nerve to talk about us?
Darian was generous, letting the Guardians of the Galaxy choose whatever they wanted. Anyway, he held a vast amount of resources now and wasn't short on these things.
"By the way, how did the Necrocorps find you?"
Bohet Planet was in a remote location, hidden on the edge of the Universe, and had a shielding device built by Rocket himself. Theoretically, as long as they didn't do anything stupid and run out, it was impossible for the Necrocorps to find them.
Quill looked depressed: "Bohet Planet was too boring, and our ship was repaired, so we set off again. Who knew that we would run into a search squad of the Necrocorps shortly after leaving."
Fine, Darian had guessed this result long ago; it wasn't surprising at all.
These people were never the type to sit still. Like a husky demolishing a house, they were full of energy. Don't expect them to stay in one place; staying put was harder for them than being killed.
But their luck was truly something else. The vast Universe was boundless, yet they managed to bump right into a Necrocorps search squad.
Quill continued with a bitter face: "Ever since the Necrocorps discovered our location, they haven't stopped sending troops to hunt us down. They've been chasing us for over a month. We've run to I don't know how many Planets, and haven't slept a single peaceful night. We've been on edge every day."
Looking at their state, one could tell how miserable these days had been.
Gamora frowned and spoke up: "This isn't a solution. As long as Ronan doesn't get the Cosmic Orb, he will keep hunting us down."
"I am Groot."
Rocket nodded: "Groot is right. I don't want to spend the rest of my life on the run."
Seeing his team members looking so worried, Quill intended to boost morale. He patted his chest and said: "What are you afraid of? It's just one Ronan. Do you really think our Guardians of the Galaxy are pushovers?"
"Uh? Aren't we?"
Quill was speechless.
Since the Guardians of the Galaxy were formed, they had either been on the run or on the way to being on the run. This was truly irrefutable.
Quill snorted: "If he keeps chasing us, then don't blame us for being impolite!"
Drax instantly perked up: "Impolite? Do you mean we're going to kill Ronan together?"
"No, I mean give the Cosmic Orb to him and beg him to let us go."
Everyone: "..."
Surrendering is surrendering, why say it so toughly?
Darian's mouth twitched as he listened to their foolish conversation.
The infectivity of Quill's idiocy virus was too strong; almost the entire Guardians of the Galaxy had fallen, and only Gamora could barely be considered a normal person.
But in his view, Gamora probably wouldn't last long either.
After all, she was the person closest to Quill.
They might have even had intimate contact, so the idiocy virus was already lurking in her body; she just hadn't noticed it yet. Being assimilated by Quill into a fool was only a matter of time.
Darian interrupted them, pouring a bucket of cold water: "Forget it. Even if you really send the Cosmic Orb over, you've destroyed so many of Ronan's ships and killed so many of his subordinates; he will never let you go."
What a joke. The Cosmic Orb was in his hands now.
Although he hadn't figured out how to use it yet, how could he hand over such an awesome thing?
Back when he was a newbie, he might have worried that the Cosmic Orb was a hot potato and would have just given it away, planning to steal it back later.
But times had changed. Now that his strength and influence had grown, he didn't need to be too afraid of causing trouble.
At worst, he could just throw the Cosmic Orb into the X-Men's server. Then no one would be able to find it. If they had the guts, they could cross servers to steal it.
Rocket scratched his head irritably: "This is indeed a big problem. Now the Necrocorps is chasing us all over the Universe. Unless we hide in a hellhole like Bohet Planet for the rest of our lives, Ronan will find us sooner or later. We can't just run forever, right?"
Being targeted by such a ruthless character with a massive force made his scalp tingle just thinking about it.
Drax suddenly shouted: "I won't run! I want to kill Ronan!"
Quill was speechless: "Ronan could kill you in one second back then. What are you going to use to fight Ronan?"
Drax looked extremely serious: "It wasn't a one-second kill, I held on for three seconds!"
"What the hell is the difference!?"
Quill felt his head spinning.
Drax had a deep blood feud with Ronan. Even if everyone else avoided Ronan, this guy would never retreat; instead, he would rush headlong to his death.
Although Drax wasn't very smart, he was a companion he acknowledged, so naturally, he couldn't just watch him go to his death.
Quill was at his wit's end and turned to Darian: "Fellow countryman, what do you think?"
Drax laughed loudly: "He's a magic user, he must think the same as me!"
Quill said frantically: "Idiot, I've told you many times, magic users are ranged classes, not warriors like you!"
Just as Darian was about to speak, a system voice suddenly rang in his mind.
[NPC Drax has issued a new quest to you]
[Quest: Save Ronan]
[Objective: Kill Ronan, save him from the fate of being danced to death by Star-Lord]
[Reward: EXP +30000, Guardians of the Galaxy Favorability +20, Random Skill *1, Random Equipment *2, Random Item *2]
Darian exclaimed in his heart.
So even the game system felt that Ronan being danced to death by Quill was too humiliating and shameless. Killing him could actually be called a rescue.
Indeed, being killed by such a fool with a dance was even worse than death.
However, the rewards for this quest were indeed rich. Darian didn't hesitate and said directly: "Drax is right. Since we can't solve the problem, we'll solve the person who creates the problem."
"Fellow countryman, are you serious?"
Quill's eyes widened: "Ronan is an Accuser of the Kree Empire. He has a whole fleet and countless Necrocorps, far more than we encountered today. With just us, how can we possibly beat Ronan?"
Don't look at how easily Darian's Ultron Robot Army dealt with those Necro-soldiers just now; those were just Ronan's vanguard. The true foundation of the Necrocorps was far more terrifying than that.
Darian understood this too, so he didn't intend to let the Ultron Robot Army take the Necrocorps head-on.
He said happily: "Just relying on us certainly won't work, but what if we add the Nova Empire?"
"Nova Empire?" Quill was stunned.
Darian nodded: "Yes, the Nova Empire has the Nova Corps. Their strength is not inferior to the Necrocorps. If we let them deal with Ronan, it will be much easier for us."
Gamora was a bit hesitant: "But why would the Nova Empire help us? We don't even know them, and we are still on their wanted list."
Darian smiled slightly: "Have you ever heard the saying, 'When in trouble, call the Police'?"
"No." * 4
"I am Groot." * 1
The members of the Guardians of the Galaxy shook their heads at the same time.
Darian: "..."
Almost forgot, these guys are all notorious outlaws in the Universe.
They usually avoid the Police; why would they actively seek them out? Isn't that just throwing themselves into the net?
Darian couldn't help but sigh in his heart that he, a law-abiding citizen, had to deal with these desperadoes every day; it was truly too hard on himself.
He cleared his throat and continued to explain: "Don't forget, the Nova Corps are the cosmic Police who maintain peace in the Milky Way Galaxy. Criminals like Ronan who commit all kinds of evil should naturally be handed over to them to manage."
Gamora shook her head: "The Nova Empire can't handle Ronan, just like they never dare to handle Thanos."
Although the Nova Corps claimed to be cosmic Police every day, they only managed the normal order of the Milky Way Galaxy and dealt with some trivial matters that couldn't be brought to the table.
But when they encountered ruthless characters like Ronan or Thanos who held massive power, they had always turned a blind eye. At most, they would make some painless condemnation; they never dared to fight head-on.
Of course, they had their own concerns.
After all, cosmic war is not a game. Once the two major forces really tear their faces and start fighting, it might be the destruction of Planets, and countless lives would perish because of it.
"Then give them a reason they have to handle it."
Darian chuckled and said his idea.
"Doesn't Ronan want the Cosmic Orb, oh no, the Power Stone inside?"
"Then I'll give him the Power Stone, and then spread the news that he wants to use this Power Stone to destroy the entire Xandar. At that time, even if the Nova Empire doesn't want to manage it, they will have to."
"No way!"
Quill shook his head quickly: "When we were at the Collector's place, you saw how terrible that thing was. That thing can easily destroy an entire Planet. If it really falls into Ronan's hands, the consequences will be unimaginable. At that time, I'm afraid even the Nova Corps won't be able to stop him."
Darian laughed: "Who said I would give him the real Power Stone?"
"Ah?"
Quill was stunned, but his brain turned fast, and he immediately reacted.
"You want to release fake news?"
"Yes, doesn't Ronan dream of the Power Stone? Then he must want to do something with it. As a famous Radicals member of the Kree Empire, it makes sense for him to want to destroy Xandar, right?"
"It really makes sense."
Quill understood what Darian wanted to do, and a mischievous smile appeared on his face.
"Since that's the case, why don't we make it even more reasonable."
"Gamora said that Ronan is actually looking for the Power Stone for Thanos. Then we'll say that after he gets the Power Stone, he immediately had a rebellious heart, occupied the Power Stone directly, and intends to destroy Xandar first, then solve Thanos, and from then on unify the Universe."
Darian heard this and exclaimed: "Wonderful, what a strategy of driving the wolf to swallow the tiger. This way, Ronan not only has to face the Nova Empire, but also Thanos. Quill, I didn't expect you to actually have a brain."
Quill waved his hand modestly: "Not at all, you're not bad either, you're simply rotten to the core!"
"No, no, still not as rotten as you."
"Hehehe!" * 2
Everyone watched the two boys laughing heartily and couldn't help but shiver.
Ronan must have had eight lifetimes of bad luck to run into these two crouching dragons and phoenix chicks.
The two finalized the plan and prepared to move immediately.
This place is not suitable for staying long. Ronan's main fleet could arrive at any time, and they didn't want to be blocked here by the other side.
Before setting off, Darian repaired all the damaged ravager ships. As for the materials for repairs, they were all taken from the wreckage of the Necrocorps ships. The main theme was not to waste.
Just as Darian was about to board the ravager ship to set sail, a huge shadow suddenly covered them.
Looking up, a huge vertical warship gradually took shape and appeared out of thin air in the high sky.
Immediately after, a cold voice full of anger came.
"Who dares to disturb the eternal sleep of the Dark Elves on Vanaheim!"
